This trend literally ruined my school. Students were causing so much damage that much of it had to be closed down. I'm talking doors broken down, thousands of dollar printers smashed apart , and all sorts of disgusting items missing from restrooms. All of this occurred over the span of maybe 4 days or so, and while granted it has calmed down since then, it's still really sad. I remember after school one day I heard two teachers in the hallway just saying that they "weren't mad, just disappointed with and worried about" our generation. Really couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks for covering this problem, I think one of the best ways to stop these trends is by having responsible influencers telling these kids that it isn't cool or ok.

I really appreciate you bringing attention to how frighteningly stupid this trend is. I work as a tech person in a school and we've caught several kids trying to break into our offices, the storage rooms, fire extinguishers, pretty much everything at this point. All technology is more or less being bolted to desks because the kids will take anything that isn't tied down, which causes problems with digital schools because now they're trying to steal each other's laptops. We have daily announcements threatening the kids who participate with arrest and expulsion, and so many kids are being investigated at the moment. It's wildly disappointing and genuinely sad to see such smart kids potentially ruining years of their lives for a microscopic taste of some fake attention. If someone in high school or middle school is reading this, don't do it please, it's not worth it.

Its been a year but I still remember that my high school was no exception to the wrath of devious licks. During the height of this trend most bathrooms (usually the boys bathroom of course) would literally be closed off for repairs. One kid even straight up ripped a stall door off its hinges and carried it around with him. So you can imagine that its annoying when youre trying to use the bathroom only to find out that half the bathrooms in the building available to you were just locked off. At one point my school even made a PSA related to devious licks, and it was mentioned to not assault members of staff??? I dont remember hearing about kids attacking their teachers, but it wouldnt surprise me given what my school was like.

At my high school the consequence was the staff closing the bathrooms, taking away the schools WiFi, and not being allowed to leave campus for lunch. The reason we can’t leave campus for lunch is because someone stole a whole stop sign off of the street people walk on to get to a small nearby store. The bathrooms are all locked up besides 2 of them. Some have no mirrors on the wall. In class if you have to use the restroom everyone takes a class field trip. What kids fail to remember is that schools are broke and have to pay for it all.

When I was in high school, long before tik tok existed, there was a trend among the "cool" kids at my school that involved jumping off the third story of the main building to try and land in a bush on the edge of the quad. Apparently you had to do it just right, because too far to either side and you'd land on concrete, too far forward and you'd hit a metal rail or some concrete stairs. And the bush in question wasn't made of pillows either, it was just some thorny ground cover to hide the dirt patch there. Plenty of kids got seriously hurt doing this, and eventually the bush was removed and that spot filled in with more concrete to deter this challenge. Back then, I always assumed my school was just full of dumbasses, but tik tok has shown me that bad decisions and pointless clout are a universal form of dumbassery.

Great, the problem with young teens is they do not expect punishments for their actions. A new trend should start on tiktok where parents compete on how extreme their punishments on their kids could get from doing these licks.

@@fatherthor4015 Trust me when I say you don't wanna do that. It's cleaner now, because they take keeping bathrooms clean way more seriously due the pandemic. But some girls will tell you that a lot of times going to the school bathroom was a fucking nightmare. I see and/or smell used pads, a bunch of long stray hairs would be in the sinks, wet toilet paper on the floor, and little piss droplets on the toilet seats. I remember one time I saw period blood streaked on the wall or bathroom door. And degrading messages written in pencil. Don't do it. It may be clean because of the pandemic causing stricter maintenance, but it may also still be a fucking nightmare you would want to avoid. Some places still don't clean the bathrooms enough.
