Too much spit , emotional outburst. This may not be the principal reason for returning. This only an excuse to prove the point. The country mentioned in here are failed states . This is the point conservatives make when they speak on dangers of immigration. There are some serious lapses in Trudeau."s policies which need to be given immediate attention. In my view India will going in the directions of depressed State - imploding population growth, huge unemployment, decreasing growth rate, decling rupees, decling export quality, social tensions, environmental stress and on the top of everything thing burgeoning debts and huge debt servicing ration. Canada is far better on these counts. So we need to be reasonable and realistic.

I went to TN, Canada in 2015 to pursue my post grads from a top university and learnt very quickly that getting a job in my field, while not impossible, would take a lot of time and money and still wasn't assured. Even my white local friends were themselves floundering in the markets for 5-8 years without a permanent position. Also, I worked at a few desi stores for the initial months and realised that it is Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi store/restaurant-owners that exploit desi kids THE MOST, they think Canada is like the country they left behind and they can carry out their feudal practices in Canada freely. Find a job at a white store like Loblaws or Metro and maybe do some constructions gigs on the side, STAY AWAY from desi stores. I left Canada and came back to India in 2018 and haven’t regretted the decision yet.

Applied 600+ applications, gave only 3 interviews- all cleared first round, but filtered out in second round just because I don’t have Canada experience. Salary they offer is less for your experience, they say directly, you don’t have canada experience, so can’t give market salary.Even after telling that I’ve worked with Canadian and US clients from India. Still didn’t select- all 3 rejected. Don’t move if you meet the below, 1. >1lakh earning per month in India. 2. If salary in canada is 5k $ per month for two people (without car). Even 6k is not sufficient. 3. You are foodie. Nothing tastes like India even if you prepare. 4. Family attachment 5. Medical issues 6. Maid ( you have to do everything here) (including furniture set up) 7. Thinking of saving the money in Canada 8. Car is necessary here and expensive 9. Real living expenses is expensive. Many more. And the list goes on. Conclusion- going back to India in December 2023. I know I will get job if I wait here, still don’t want to live here. Just that before getting trapped here, moving back to India immediately.

I can totally relate to this man! Me and my toddler came to Canada in March 2023 to Calgary. My husband came last year on a work visa. I have come on an open work permit. I have 10 years of experience in Digital marketing back in India. It's been 8 months since I have not got a single job. I am still okay starting with an entry level job in my field which I am not getting and the survival job I get rejected because I am overqualified. Honestly if you are moving to a developed country for the betterment of life then you don't want to do a survival or labour job. Especially if you have that kind of experience. I feel if you are a couple and your household income per month is 2lac then don't move.

What is the benefit of coming to Canada now? When Canada opened up in the seventies, there were many advantages to coming to Canada. Back then there was a lot of work in the lumber industry in western Canada and big factories in eastern Canada. In those days, if you were willing to do any work, you would get a job within 8-10 days. In 1990, a bachelor apartment went for $500 a month and a one-bedroom was $600 a month. Almost all would get their 3-4 bedroom house within 10 years. Groceries used to be so cheap that $200 a month could support the entire family. The telephone bill was $10 per month. A Vancouver-Toronto bus ticket was only $100. School education was good, children had to give exams. It used to be very easy to see a doctor. Buses were less crowded. Now the standard of education has gone down so much that children become like robots after finishing school. If you have to go to the hospital, you have to wait for 8-10 hours to see the doctor. New immigrants find basements for shelter. Getting your own house has become a dream now. Those who have bought houses will have to pay the mortgage for a long time. Many homeowners are paying interest only, there is no reduction in the principal. Bus service is so sparse that sometimes more than 100 passengers wait for a 38-seater bus. International students are in a very bad situation. Spend 25-30 lakhs, live 4-5 together in basements and do hard labor jobs (warehousing, retail cashier, security). Even if they do 2 years diploma they do not get any good job, only minimum wage jobs. Those with good jobs or jobs (income of eighty thousands or more) should come to Canada with a lot of thought, because when they come here, they are all considered workers and they have to find low-paying jobs and have to live in often in basements. In addition to my earlier comment, I think it will be really helpful if this podcast interviews people who made it in Canada through their sheer hardwork and determination, who actually came out of their comfort zone, who improved their skills, who didn’t criticize the system much (i know everyone has some bad experiences), who took the challenge, who remained grounded, and had realistic expectations. I firmly believe that audiences of this channel will benefit enormously if they hear such encouraging real stories. Otherwise it much easier to criticize and talk about how wonderful the life was before coming to Canada. By the way Canada is just one country, the story will be same wherever you go outside your home country.

These are all facts which every single person in Canada goes through. It's not one person's experience. It is every single person's experience. Why should they not talk about it when it's true.

I think most western countries are now far worse off than many developing countries. The entire proposition of west was Rich, Affluent and a great lifestyle -big house, cars, family, pets, clean environment etc. but this proposition holds true only if 2conditions are met-1. Economy grows at about 4to5% and small population where wealth distribution is not a challenge. But, most western countries are seeing negative growth and migration to offset that. So it is a double jeopardy. Countries like Canada, Australia, NZ are finished. They don't have much future.

Those who can't go to US, generally go to Canada. They have good colleges but not of US standards. Job opportunities are plenty but salaries are far less. And now with khalistanis getting backing from Canadian government, it's just not worth it. It's OK for farmers, drivers and blue collar workers from Punjab, but not for intellectuals.

@1.00.15 I respect the opinion of the guest about canada being underdeveloped compared to china. However I am of the opinion that we should have a broader view of what the parameters are for calling a nation developed vs under developed. Also the views about united states being a better place to make more money. I suggest a more holistic view about this. People age and people go through ups and downs during their life. We should not look to keep moving from one place to another depending on the stage of life we are in. Currently you are working age person so you could afford paying for private health care (as in India or United states) however at the same time there will be seniors in your society who will find it difficult to pay for those costs. In both these countries the healthcare provided by the government for people who cannot afford private insurance is in deplorable state. Take the instance of the cost of insulin or diabetes drugs or heart related ailments. I know many seniors in India who are on pensions (from esteemed government institutes) end up paying more than 65% of their pensions towards prescription medication. It is pretty much the same issue in United states.

Hi, i'm a Quebecor - speaks french - and i dont know where i could immigrate ( alone cause i dont have a bf or a family ) that would be better for me ... I'm open to suggestions! :) As for the ' increase in crime ' : is it Really better somewhere else? Crimes increase everywhere ( as the population grow! ) and i think there is not much crime per capita here than somewhere else ... Even far less than in some country! As for the ' high taxes ' : do other contries have the same communitiy services / free health care ( i know, i know, there is flaws there, but hey! it's Free! :) ), paid dental care ( new from this year ), maternity leave up to a year and a half - that u can divide with the father -? As for the ' making friends ' thing, pple usually make friends at their job. Sure its not easy, but i Really think its the case everywhere. PPle who are born in * country will have, being an adult, for sure pple they know for a long time and not necessarily really have the time / interest to have a lot of new profound connexions. Sure, i'm wondering if here is the right place for me to live, but everywhere has its own problems!
