Bought this attachment today May 1, 2020 and it was the truth. I cut down tough brush that has been growing high since 2016 behind my friend's home. You just can't throw it in the brush but if you take your time you can walk straight through. Good investment.

I've been very impressed with Ryobi 40v system. I have a 60x60x5' virgin patch I want to TRY to cut with this. It's dense and somewhat dry on very soft sandy soil (south central florida).. mostly I worry about snakes, bees, coyotes and panthers since working alone and an hour from a hospital on roads that are barely passable and hardly any cell reception.

Nice video, the only problem I had with this product was the battery. I did a video on how long it will run with the trimmer head then a couple weeks later I had to get a new battery. Went through 4 batteries before I replaced this with the 50v Echo.

Never sharpen the blade on a brush cutter. They aren't designed to slice like a lawnmower or saw, they break due to brute force. if you sharpen you could break the blade or if you hit a rock or solid object it could create lift and throw it in the air. Or it could break the blade.

@@ResslerMania Hey Ressler, just picked one up :). It works fine with the 18V Ryobi version. This tool is a beast. I have some small bamboo I have to keep cut back and it blasts right through them. It shreds stuff 1/4-1/2 inch thick. I'm going to use if for some tough pruning jobs I need to do. If you have tough brush or weeds to go through this thing is just the tool you need. Battery time is also pretty good - had about 15-20 minutes of solid use. Very well spent 79 bucks.

Thank you Judith Wilber so very much for watching our video and taking time to comment. We really appreciate that. You are correct, there is nothing to fear, the blade is not sharp but does have the power to wack through most of the things I need it to go through, including small tree yearlings as you can see here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ml6ToYGBn52hbrM . Great to hear you work at Home Depot. I enjoy the customer service at my local store. Have a GREAT Day.

Thank you Ravi Sriram so very much for watching our video and taking time to comment. We really appreciate that. I am not affiliated with Ryobi in any way (at least not yet), so I do not know of any official way to do what you are suggesting. I will keep your comment up in case there is someone who has done this. I CAN tell you that I have cut down some heavier brush and yearling trees with this. I have a lot of other footage I have to edit first so not sure when I will have it out (I have a full time job that sometimes requires much more than 40hrs per week so many times I can only get one ResslerMania episode out a week). I used this brush cutter to help clear a field, along with other Ryobi battery powered tools.Subscribe and hit the notification bell so you can be notified when new episodes come out. I honestly do not know how much I will feature this product in the video since I still have a little more to shoot using other Robi products and I have not even started editing it yet. Have a GREAT Day.

I just bought the Ryobi 40v Expand It power head and brush cutter attachment; after unboxing I noticed in the brush cutter manual it says not to use the brush cutter on any electric power head, due to risk of personal injury or shock. Also, the power head manual says that the brush cutter shouldn't be used with it. They are both part of the Expand It system. I am super annoyed , I really need to get some work done. Did you notice that, or have any problems?
@ResslerMania
@ResslerMania 2 жыл бұрын
The year I bought MY attachment, that warning was not in the manual. Since I have no affiliation with Ryobi I can't say why there was a change. You can see in my ULTIMATE TEST video that I have personally not had any issues with the attachments I have. Makes you wonder why they made that change in the manual though 🤔
@ceramtube
@ceramtube 2 жыл бұрын
I saw the same thing in the manual and had the same reaction. I did the usual internet search to see if there were horror stories about using it, but found nothing. The box the brush cutter attachment came in didn’t list any compatibility issues. On the Ryobi support website many posters talked about using it with the 40v power head. Not sure if the warning is purely legalese or not.

I first started out years ago with gas Powerhead then just switched over to the 40v Lithium-ion brushless motor unit. Now I have two straight shaft line trimmer attachments. Anyone convert a line trimmer to a brush cutter fitted with a Forester Chainsaw Tooth Brush blade or a 36 tooth Carbide Tip Brush blade or a Renegade Razor Hybrid blade? Seen a bunch of videos with Stihl gas units that cut tree limbs like a hot knife going through butter.

Thank you Jay Altizer so very much for watching our video and taking time to comment. We really appreciate that. As far as this unit not being the same as, lets say, a brush cutter mower, you are correct. That is a different tool for a different job. As I was trying to show at the end of this unboxing was that it was sufficient for the smaller jobs. For instance, I have used it to go under and around trees where I had to cut down small thorny bushes and larger weeds that a standard weed eater would get rapped up in. Hope this helps answer your implied question. Have a GREAT Day.

I'd guess this thing can cut through about a 1/2" thick stem while the brush hog will cut anything. However this can get into areas the brush hog can't if you've got complicated landscape like big rocks or thick trees you don't want to damage.

I just saw this part of your comment. I am sorry it took a day to answer. As a small KZbin Creator, I (and others in my position) have full time jobs (some of us even have to work weekends). I like to take time to answer thoughtful questions like yours. When I do that, I use my home computer instead of my phone. So... when I see a comment on my phone (on break at work) I hit the like button so the person knows I saw it, I then answer the question as I have time at home. I hope this answers your question, and again ... sorry for the delay, but I hope you now understand why I, and other small KZbin Creators, don't always have the time to answer back right away. Have a great day my friend.
