Naa... one big reason a lot of player simply stopped playing is the non-requirement of skill in any way because 8 out of 10 hits you take are HEAT or APCR... mostly from russian hightier Mediums or Heavies which have very brutal guns even with standard amo... I took HEAT even in my lightweight scouts or arty, both without any armour, but heavier and slower that russian lights with armour, faster and way smaller... Russian bias and the goldspam is the reason why most player resort to sealclubbing on lowtier or just walk away.

I've got my 7-year badges so I've ridden the Curve and know you speak the truth about the game. It's too bad WG couldn't have stretched out the slope of the curve and delayed the decay but I guess the allure of significant monetization couldn't be resisted any longer. ...and a metric shit ton of GOLD - just putting that out there. I buy gold every 2-3 months (circa $20) now in this quarter i held off for this. Spent the same, on boxes. Got 3 x skins, 1 x Tank, 3 garage slots, 1 x crewman, and 3500 gold (and about 25 days extra premium). Moaning about it, is irrelevant if you don't spend....Its like bitching about Ferrari having a car sale because you cannot afford it after the sale. You couldn't afford it in the 1st place. For those of us who can....its nice and makes us happy. Its not gambling if you end up with guaranteed more than you started with? There is no net downside, its just the amount you gain varies. If you paid all that and got nothing, then it would be gambling....All that aside the power creep Russian bullshit is starting to fucking get on my tits.

I bought 150 boxes and got 24 tanks(8 new ones, 16 duplicates) I got E25, defender, leFH, skorp G, and with my last box IS-3A. 62,400 gold, 9 mil credits, 75+ prem time, new skins. 4 female crew members once I decorated x-mas stuff and reached level 10, One 2 skilled crewman, Simon Claus. I was very pleased with my purchase. I spend money 2,3 times a year and always have gotten my money's worth with X-mas loot boxes.

I own a WZ-120-1 FT and it's the most overpowered tank I own. I'm usually playing at bottom tier in 3-5-7, but somehow almost every game I end up in the top three for damage and or experience (at bottom tier!). None of my other non-premium tanks I am able to do this with. The tank is so fast and agile a light tank can try to flank me at full speed and I can turn easily fast enough to stay locked on. It's dpm with my load out is 3400, view range 455 without binos, camo is 850ish without a net. It's front plate is so well angled that I can bounce most ap shells at long range from T8 and lower and sometimes bounce T10 tanks. It can snipe at medium range reliably and brawl or face hug heavies of the same tier. No other tank I have even comes close to how OP this one is. It makes me sick that many tanks in one on one with me can't even put up a fight. I'd gladly give it up if wargaming would fix their freaking game. But no. So instead after 3 years of playing, many hours and hundreds of dollars I'm done. I'm tired of this game that is only moderately fun in premium tanks. It's sad to leave a game I once loved and adored to play. I'll miss my friends I've made in-game. But if wargaming is too high on their own supply to wake up and realize that they are ruining their game then I hope they crash and burn or better yet get ammo racked. GET AMMO RACKED WARGAMING

same with my IS-M, a non-premium tier 8 Russia heavy. I love this tank but i also disgust it. It just so overpowered at its tier that none of the tier 7 and vast majority of tier 8 is a threat to me (except TD and Defender which are always be a problem even with tier 10): No weakspot, insane frontal armour, big alpha gun with reasonable DPM and mobiliy is better than normal heavy tank. I once decided to turn of my brain, drive straight into enemy line and somehow survive with steel wall and high caliber gun just by instant snap shot at anything i see It sad me how broken the game is and how terrible the state of balancing the game is. But i can't quit. I already waste so much money (like 400$ i think) and so much time has been spent into this game that quiting it is not an option anymore. I do hope one day this game will die so my soul and mind can be free from this garbage

HD maps bullshit, fking OP premiums bullshit and new mega-super-armor heavy's which just promote the premium ammo spam. And ofc there is just 5% of all shots fired which are premium, problem is that ALL means all those ppl driving low tier tanks where everything has poof-poof gun and like 5000 shells are fired every game, so it perfectly balances out t8+ games where the ratio from what i can see in my games is like 50-50... And i see even most of the streamers i watch who are just in "do not give a damn " mode and driving in T110E3s, 50Bs, 113s, you name it FULL APCR/HEAT

The IS-3A reload is 17.62/14.69/11.75s. The IS is 12.75. The Progetto M35 is 7.67/8.63/11.51s. The IS-3A seems really OP when you have a sheriff account or tons of credits to equip the tank and your crew and that 17.62/14.69/11.75s is much lower. But if you have a decent crew (maybe 2 or 3 skills) and you don't have full equipment, it ends up being a really painful reload from empty. Start the game and you have 17.62/14.69/11.75s for a full clip. If you use that well then you're ahead. If not, you are looking at 17 for the next shell vs 12 for a normal IS or 7 for the Progetto. This can be OP when you have an OP crew and equipment - but I've yet to see anyone evaluate it with just normal crew and equipment.

5 years later, IS-3a gets a drive-by by an ebr and buzzed from across the map by a 360-noscope BZ. Then gets stunned/killed by all 3 enemy artillery only to loose 30,000 credits after the battle.

23:50 is exactly what happened to me. i've spent 6 months grinding as a free player until i deleted the game. initially i really enjoyed playing in my tier 5 and 6. then an awkward "hey what's going on?" moment occurred to me while facing the tier 8 premium power creeps as i was going through tiers 7 and 8. but eventually i've purchased my first and probably the worst f2p tier 9 in the game. the t-54. i was completely dissappointed as i've later found out that this vehicle is pretty much trash unless you spam heat in it which was impossible for me to do since i would go bankrupt in 10 games max if i did so. however, as claus has said, i was completely uncompetitive and i had no choice but to delete the game. the only good thing happened to me playing wot was accidentally discovering claus kellerman though youtube :)

I have been playing a year plus 7 days now, I could have got my self up to at least tier 7 by now but I have stayed below level 6 to avoid playing vs these fucking insane tier 8 prem tanks. Really enjoyed the game until tier 6 when I realised I was there just to be slaughtered by bought tanks, and it would be like that all the way until I finally get to tier 10. The +2 match making is horrid too, really really hate the +2 MM and I expect a lot of new players get completely turned off the game once they get past tier 3 and realise they can't pen the enemy but the enemy can pen you any where any time. I hated it so much I bought my self a slow assed Matilda IV so I get the preferential MM, which I was was number one in the ranking by vehicle list last night with ( mini brag lol ) , felt like I had been playing well for a week, checked my stats and was 1st place, so happy and surprised.

The game is totally beyond broken past tier 6 now. I DON'T WANT MORE OP RUSSIAN PREMIUM TANKS!!!! What we want is skins and that sort of stuff, that makes the tanks look cool, WITHOUT making them more powerful! People are perfectly happy to pay for that! That's how other games work!!! I've played since closed beta, but i rarely play tier 8-10 now, as it's absolutely no fun. I don't have a Defender. I don't have Scorpion G. I don't have T26E5. The only tank I have that is somewhat OP, is the E25 that I got as a reward about 6 years ago, and I rarely play it anymore because it feels like cheating. I love the camo styles you can get in the loot boxes. THAT'S the content we should get! Come on WG! Come to your senses!!

man, it was saticfying last night playing in my M40/M43 and making it rain on a pair of IS-3As and a defender that were platooned up. They thought they were going to roll over our team but me raining 250-600 damage shots on them every 25 seconds said otherwise.

IS-3A = First tier IX (X?) premium tank (disguised as tier VIII) I agree with most of the points Claus said, but WoT ALWAYS was a p2w game. First attempt in terms of p2w-tanks (Type 59) happened late 2011! Oh and lets not forget gold ammo wich was only purchaseable through, you guessed it, GOLD (real money). People got accustomed to those p2w aspects from the beginning on and now that they realize (they grow up?) that years and years of paying monthly 30 days prem lead to even more p2w scenarios theyre either mad @wargaming or themselves...? Now HOW could THAT happen? Simply dont buy tanks, dont buy prem, dont buy anything until they fix their 10 year old mmo this is my NO BULLSHIT opinion on this.

Hi Claus, I bought the 75X Christmas boxes and got E-25, Turan III, IS-3A, KV 220-2 3 times, Defender, M4 Improved, Simon Claws, 3 special camo's, 41,950 gold, 4 Million Credits, 60 days Premium and enough Decorations to get Level 10 with all the rewards including the 4 trained female crew. My son bought the 75X Christmas boxes as well and got M4 Improved, KV 220-2 twice, Turan III, Defender, IS-3A, 74 days Premium, 3 special camo's, 27,000 gold, 4.5 million credits Simon Claws and the same for the Level 10 in the Decorations. I think we got our moneys worth for sure. Merry Christmas!!!

Match Maker is finely tuned to ensure that you do not want to stay at tier 1 - 6, everybody wants to get to tier 10 so they can be top tier every time

Veterans playing nothing but low tier games, will extinguish new players from entering the game, and so the game will die a slow death. To even begin a new player, would need 6th sense for every tank, guess what, WG will just have to an option PTW where i get 6th sense with every tank. Then what PTW will be necessary next?

Back in the day on the Asian server, there was a gold type 59 with this really beautiful camo overlay. It costs $999 and at the beginning of any given battle, the first thing that happened was the team would collectively TK people with that tank. I say we tk anyone with an IS-3A to express our displeasure at this move by WG.

T34 has 248, Löwe has 234, Amx 50 100 has 232, 65t has 232 so does the Liberté, and the somua 232, e5 has 230, kv4 has 227, caernarvon ax has 226, is3 has 225, defender has 225, tiger 2 is 225, is3a 221, Emil 1 is 224, vk100 has 220 and so does caernarvon, Mauerbrecher has 220, so no 218 is not OP

Take away most of those newish premium tanks and the old reliables T34 Lowe and the few powerful non premiums most tier 8 heavies have around 210 to 220 average. The VK 4502 A though well that's just a flat 200.

Agree 100%. Two possible approaches, both of which require co-operation of those who choose not to drive premium PTW tanks. First is the Ghandi tactic - every time you come across one of the OP PTW tanks you just stop and let it kill you with no resistance. Would hopefully soon get boring. Second option, and more fun, is an accord between non PTW drivers that every time one of these appears on an enemy team the whole of your team devote all their efforts to hunting it down and killing it. As a pack. Regardless of the game result. The new No.1 goal is to kill PTW tanks! Fancy promoting that among your followers? Imagine, you see one of the PTW tanks on the enemy listing as the game launches and you message the rest of the team inviting them to join you in nailing it, whatever it takes? Could it catch on?

I bought loot boxes and I got one. Also a Defender, 2- E25s, 2- M4 Improveds, a KV-220-2, a Turan, and MKA, and a LeFH18B2. I tried some of them, but I'm not good enough to fully play the high tiers effectively and so the tank that I really am enjoying? The KV-220-2. It is a beast. Klaus, I've been following your advice and staying in the low tiers. It is less stroke-inducing that way.

One thing seems to evade the general discussion. The game's initial player base shared the same initial conditions. As many of the first base played less or played other games, new players are in the position of marathon runners starting the race behind time. It isn't an easy game and it takes time and abilities to play it at its full potential. One cannot just enter this game with premium tanks, it takes practice and the small edge provided by the power creep isn't worth much without experience. We can take the E25 as an example, many bought this tank thinking it was a magic wand and fall flat on their face in game. Old video games had a level boss exactly for this reason. You had to defeat the boss in order to climb one level. WoT needs the equivalent of level bosses to unlock access to higher tiers and this should be implemented as boot camp mission or tutorials in order to promote to a higher tier. I would see such unlocking missions or tutorials at the beginning then to access tier six then later as a precursor to the high tiers. - But Sir with respect she is a 44 gun ship, she is out of our line. - She is vulnerable from the rear, just like anyone else.

I literally write this comment under every single WoT video but I think the game while it was going downhill for years steadily, really kicked into overdrive after the addition of the Chrysler GF because that marked the first tank with no frontal weakspots and basically no weaknesses. Well the only weakness it he low AP pen which you can easily compensate by loading fullAPCR, something that Wargaming WANTS you to do. That was a big ass nail in the coffin. But honestly, the game died for me when they added the Obj. 268 v4 which is still in the game and is still outright fucking broken. That was when I uninstalled the game and never ever looked back. Because fucking up T8 is one thing, but fucking up T10, the most competitive tier in WoT is another. I still watch WoT videos but I have no urge to play the game or reinstall it and at times like these I'm glad. I'm glad I'm done with it. It really does seem like WG is just digging WoT a grave. Maybe they want the game to die.

Scorpion G is not broken. It has a long reloading time and it does not fire multiple unlike other tanks. Its camo is bad also. Its not a fast moving tank either. The only think this tank has going for it is the alpha. Its accuracy is medium also. Not to mention its incredible weak tank. One arty hit and game over. I would also cant say you are getting addicted playing tear 1 to 7. Reality is a lot of people are bashing on you with and without premium tank. This game is more of a bashing game with the biggest gun. And this related to these offers of getting the next free tank if they get 30k experience every day for a week or two which you cant really do unless you got a high end premium tank or tear X tank.

Same excuses people brought up to defend the Type back then. That was before you could use gold ammo for credits. Go figure how platoons full of them destroyed the game. I can remember one screen with 14 Types on each side. The Skorpion might be not as bad as that but its just better than its counterparts on T8. And thats psw. Nothing more to add. You are not even mentioning that it has a turret unlike most other t8 tds. But its probably not an advantage right?

I ground my way up to tier 5 tanks in about a month and then bought a premium account for myself as a Christmas present. Before the account I had around 6 million in credits. After getting my second tier 8 tank I was up to 9 million, but falling. Playing bottom tier to 9 and 10 tier tanks you have to spam gold to even stay alive and then it doesn't always work. Even with a few kills and a win you still lose credits because of all the gold you spammed. I took your advice Claus and turned off my chat early on. People hating on me for spamming gold, when they're driving premium top tier tanks! Now I just play tier 4 and 5 and occasionally one of my higher tanks. I can have fun in my 4 and 5 tier tanks, spam all the gold I want and still make credits if my team wins. I'm over 14 million credits now and gaining more every day. I found my happy place!

Hi Mr. Kellerman. Nice video as always. I am a player from Lithuania and I am playing this game since 2012. I agree with your state, that during this period of time until now, the game has changed dramaticly. A lot of new stuff were added, a lot of stuff were rebelanced in order to make a game good. But WG some things did not done properly since 2015 with introduction of Scorpion G & Defender. This game has seen ups and downs. There was cool events happening (chaffe tank races, IS-8 Ball pool, retro tanks, tank football, Front Line game mode and some others) and now I some miss those cool game modes. They were free, fun and full of excitement. My only hope is that WG will fix issues with money, which we donated to them during this christmas holiday event, in near future. I know that my hopes have small chance to be listened, but I think that I am not alone thinking this... Have a good time sir ;) P.S. I have always loved your honest non-sh*t opinion and that is why I respect you.

Don't forget that the IS-3A isn't actually on sale and WG refuse to confirm whether or not it ever will be. At the moment, the only way to get one (other than test accounts or CC's being gifted it by WG) is through loot boxes with a drop rate of 1%! A player could pour money into boxes and never be guaranteed of ever receiving it! Quacky opened 200 boxes and didn't find one...

I've been playing this game for just over a year without spending a dime on it, just grinding my way up to tier 7 in several lines. I was thinking of spending a bit of money on gold just so that I could pay to demount complex equipment to move to the next tank as I moved up a tier, but then I remembered watching Claus open a bunch of loot boxes last year and seeing how he got a lot of gold and credits from them. So rather than buy gold, I decided to wait and if they did holiday loot boxes again this year I would buy a few, figuring it would get me the gold I want and, maybe, I would get lucky and crack a premium tank. So yesterday, I spent $20 to buy 11 of the Christmas boxes, logged into the game, and started cracking them. On box number 6, a video pops up with some epic sounding music and there it was - I had pulled a new IS3-A. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. Now, I have very little experience playing at tier 8, as I’ve only ground as far as tier 7 so far. I played a couple of Frontline matches with the loaner tanks Wargaming let everyone use, and I have played a handful of random battles in the tier 8 rental tanks that I’ve randomly been given a couple of times. I’m an okay player - probably a bit above average skill-wise - and with these mediocre tier 8 tanks, I’ve been less than impressive in the few tier 8 matches I’ve played. So I take my shiny, new IS3-A and play four matches with it. I don’t feel I played particularly well in any of them, but despite muppet play and inexperience facing tier 10s, I was able to deal and assist on a good amount of damage and could hold a flank pretty much on my own, even when fighting tier 9 and 10s. I have a lot to learn to actually be good at tier 8, but with the IS3-A, I absolutely feel like I can hold my own. That is proof positive to me that it is OP.

What I do is play the highest tier tank I can earn credits with, without a premium account, and have fun and try to improve. It used to be a t5 leapord. Now it is a t7 SP 1 C. I can even use a premium round or 2 in an emergency. I have millions of credits and take my TVP 50/51 out for a spin once and a while for a treat. In a rare emergency I have spent some money for gold to retrain a crew for a new tank or to fix a strategic error in training. Other than that, I play for free and have fun.

Mister Claus Kellerman - you have my RESPECT, sir !! You are the staunchest and most honest CC anywhere. Your level of personal integrity is rare among men!! I commend you for your analysis of the state of this game! I bought 4 Tiger 131´s on december 3rd to get the Free-BIA crews. Despite presenting proof (screenshot) to WG support that the crew was announced as included, WG refuses to deliver the product I paid for. After creating a ticket and demanding that they deliver what they sold me - I got the gold back. I told them that I do NOT want compensation.. I want the crews that I paid for! WG has now blocked the ticket.. LOL - what a bunch of brilliant businessmen they are!! This game has become increasingly broken over the last few years. The Tiger 131 fraud, WG lying to their customers and their unwillingness to fix the imbalances of this game - has made me decide to dump WoT. The 100€ I intended to spend on WoT christmas boxes will be spent on another game - I am not going to fund the WG fraudsters anymore.. enough is enough! It is actually sad that it has come to this. I think that the game concept is sound and I can only say this to WG: "WoT are you doing?!?" LOL Wish you all a merry christmas!! They seem to have reached the point where it makes financially more sense for the Wot project to maximize the profit with the remaining player base instead of running a more sustainable strategy with lower profits until the player base bleeds out. As a company decision, I can understand it. I think that they must have come to the conclusion that the decline of the player base can not be reversed and thought about how to maximize the profit until the end of the project.

Claus, you're right about low tiers... I started grinding some new tech tree lines recently and found the low tier games a lot of fun. Obviously it helps being a more experienced player in those games, but still, most of the tanks are fairly equal and even notorious clunkers like the M3 Lee can still be very effective.
