Wotancraft Canteener EDC Utility Sling Bag 3.5L - possibly the best bag for street photography?

They make awesome quality bags. I started with the 2L for carrying just a single extra lens, then the 3.5L for 2 lenses + accessories, then finally ordered the 7L for carrying it all (20-70 on the a7CR, 35mm 1.4GM, 70-200GII macro). I thought this EDC bag wasn't necessary, until I saw that it could be packed flat, which would be a smaller version of bringing both the 7L and 3.5L in my carryon. When out shooting, I rarely need to put my camera back in the bag, so I just need something small for bring the additional lenses.

It's the packing flat I like about this bag as my Pilot 7L will be carrying the bus of my gear for this trip.

hi, you really can fit this all (20-70 on the a7CR, 35mm 1.4GM, 70-200GII macro) into the 7L?

@@joelrosario8960Yes you can. There are 2 dividers making 3 slots. 70-200 f4 macro with hood reversed in one, 20-70mm with hood standard in center, 1.4x TC on bottom of 3rd, with 35GM on top. Front pocket has plenty of space for a BT remote, extra battery and strap. I use a hand strap on the body. Plus there are expansion pockets on the sides for little stuff. This 7L is small but carries a ton, much more than the Peak Design bags.

@@joelrosario8960 Sorry, I forgot to include that. Yes the a7CR body is attached to the 20-70mm. Fits with the hood standard or reversed. And I also have the SmallRig base plate on the bottom of the body.

Mark can you also elaborate on the other accessories you have for your a7C. The thumb rest and plate extender?

Sony, Neewer and SmallRig make grip extensions for the A7CII. Haoge makes the thumb rest and retro lens hoods. I am also using a Wotancraft paracord wrist strap. I have a 'Going Retro /Adapting classic lenses' seminar on my Patreon.com/markgaler support channel along with a 700-page eBook and camera setup file for this camera.

Thanks for your input - I like the Canteener because I was looking for a bag that had a broad opening where I didn't have to open and close a top flap when I am in a hurry to retrieve the camera in order to capture a decisive moment.

The FE 35mm F2.8 ZA and FE 55mm F1.8 ZA is the combo shown here. I also own the compact 24mm F2.8 G and 50mm F2.5 G lenses.

@@AlphaCreativeSkills Thank you. Don’t own the FE 35/2.8 ZA any more but do have the FE 35/1.8 and FE 55/1.8 ZA again. Also the 24/2.5 G, 40/2.5 G, and 50/2.5 G plus FE 28/2 as small primes for my compact C bodies. Finding I need a completely set of small lenses even though I have almost a full set of a Larger G, GM, GMII lenses I use on my full size A1 and A7RV. Maybe we can convince Sony to create a 35/2.5 G to having consistent ergonomics in the small full frame lens family. Take care.

I have been a big advocate for Sony to add to their range of compact lenses in both full-frame and APS-C. I also own the big GM lenses and an A1.

@@AlphaCreativeSkills Premium and chinese manufactured are not always a good match ! I had Lowepro bags from when they started production in China 1995, the strap snapped off the very first day. So I got a Tamron (non-chinese made,) which had a very rough life for 25 years before a zipper broke.

@@AlphaCreativeSkills Agree, but I do find it much harder to find a good bag today than 20 to 40 years ago ! Today bags are to complicated and often not good enough quality. The best bags I use now are old Lowepro and Crumpler bags. I miss the good old quality of Tenba and Tamrac bags.
