Would a FLIP PHONE work for you?

What has been working for me, is i bought a flip phone, transferred by iPhone number to it. And then i stopped the service of my iPhone. I deleted all social media and now my iPhone is only used for books/audiobooks, podcasts, notes, maps. Plus side is i can only use the iPhone when public wifi is around. 👍🏾 It makes it to where on certain days I’ll choose to either bring iPhone for enjoyment

In India that Nokia phone can do SMS Transactions so online Transactions isn't a problem

I speand hours on my phone when in the end all i need is text, call and homework (which i can do on a broken laptop or at school). Im just a teen, at first i just needed a phone to go outside and for my parents to make sure im safe.

I would love to use a flip "dumb" phone. But there a some issues I have with it. I work in IT. So my standards on IT Security are pretty high, meaning, encrypted communication, which is not gonna happen on these, having my passwords on it, most of them around 21-64 chars, or passkeys. Since there is no device for my special use case, I have to stick with a smartphone.

I'm the same, I bought a Blu Tank Flip to leave social networks, it only uses WhatsApp and nothing else and it's even uncomfortable to use but that's how I forget about social networks, I deleted them all, and you still use the same phone you bought?

I personally am on social media too much. I only wanna use KZbin and that's it. And just have calling and text.. So the flip phone would be my best option. Especially since I have 3 kids 🤷‍♀️ I already deleted almost everything off my note 9 just gotta order the flip phone and then rid of the note 9. My life is too consumed by social media and stuff. Need to change that

Avoid the Nokia and go for the Doro flip at slightly lower price. The Nokia is poorly made, slowed by Kai OS and not actually made by Nokia at all.

Honestly since most of my communication and how people reach me is discord. If a flip phone could access it easily, I’d have no hesitation of ditching my iPhone completely

I'm seriously considering ditching my iphone. Buying an ipad and transferring the iphone onto it, to have all the apps etc on. But having a dumbphone so I don't have the phone lying down and wasting so much time on the iphone. Not sure I've got the guts to pull it off though and I'll miss the convenience! 🤣😫

my essential app is Google Maps/Waze for navigation. if nokia flip phone could run navigation as smooth as smartphone, i would change to flip phone right away..

The microphone you switched to on the second half lf the video is hard to listen to and it sounds as if you where to speak there a paper towel roll, the your close up microphone sounds much nicer 🫶 Love the video informative simple and well edited

What do you do in the case of the annoyingly fast growing number of restaurants and bars (ultimately it will be almost everywhere, unfortunately) that require you to order using your phone and the menu's QR code. Or during the Pandemic whenever EVERYWHERE required you to have a "readable" version of your Vax certificate, on your phone???

Yes I agree this is hard, thankfully most places near me seem to have both options available, but I agree this is liiting - especially for those who aren't as technologically experienced

I'm a guy an Reddit, Discord and Whatsapp are the only social media I use on my smartphone. I never use much of FB, Twitter, Instagram. And Tiktok is banned in my country...:/

@@aabd1994 hi, i bought it. it is nice, but the K9 app doesnt work for everything, sometimes you need to use the touch screen and i felt like the big buttons were useless since you have to do everything on the tiny screen. in general it worekd fine, but my banking app for axample did not work. i couldnt enter my code to login because the screen was too small to scroll down and be able to use all the numbers, and it did not work with the K9, so I could not login. It is fine but i returned it.
