A.C. Power - phasing - for motor rotation, with, by wire placement. There are electronic phase detection devices available, to check direction.

FYI, the juice on each leg depends on the transformer(s) the local power company supplies. In your case, you've asked them to supply a 3 phase system that delivers 480v across any 2 phases.... so the math for each leg equates to: 480v divided by the SQUARE ROOT of 3 = 480v / 1.73 = 277v on each leg. If you wanted a 208v 3 phase delivery, the math is still the same (just different transformers): 208v / 1.73 = 120v on each leg.

?Suggestion? Paint the cables and connectors with nail polish, then match the colors up when you go to reconnect. Dollar Tree has cheap nail polish. This also works for electronic devices when you’re reinstalling. Like speakers or tv connections.

If the motors are wound the same it would work. Sometimes they are wound different. The bump test key to check proper connection. It is amazing that 75% of the time you have to swap something. Lol

each phase is 240v each phase is 120degrees apart (Total 360 Degrees) and your correct "to change direction change any 2 phases" Love the Videos dude

Each phase leg should be 277 Volts (Phase to Ground). If you measure (phase to phase) on any two legs is 480Volts. If you blow a single fuse and only measure the two good phases it will show as good. Always test all three legs when testing three phases.

I can remember helping my dad swap electric well motors like that, except instead of finding another in town we "stole" a motor from another well that wasn't in use.

Since you have power to the pivot, would it make sense to have solar in the corners not irrigated. Seems like a business opportunity as the wires are already there for export of power. Could be through a third party under contract. Might be a business opportunity.

Afternoon on a Saturday Cale. First off, Let me say GREAT job on getting the motor replaced and wired properly the first time. Second, As a hot tub repair professional for 18 years, A pump is a multi-piece part that is put together. It is made of 2 pieces, A Motor and a wet end. Inside the wet end is an impeller that attaches to the motor shaft and needs the proper amount of clearance from the housing to work properly. I hope you all have recovered well from the basement flood and how is Laura's trailer doing? Have a GREAT weekend.
