I've been homeless, had drug issues and know most of them in my town. The ones sat outside shops are almost always taking advantage of kindness to fund drug or alcohol habits. The ones not trying to take advantage are generally not putting themselves on display.
@Steve_the_lion1075Ай бұрын
So the ones not on public display, where do they usually hang around?
@tingle2330Ай бұрын
@Steve_the_lion1075 in my town a lot camp out in woods relatively close to town and parks. Is a pretty green town though so can't speak for other places. They'll usually be easiest to find when they visit whatever places offer free meals in your area.

The global charitys dont want us to give direct to the homeless. They say we should give it them but most gets used on "expenses"!

I used to give money if I saw a homeless person. But, then I was scammed. I gave him £10 and after ten minutes he walked away with two others and handed the cash over. Never again.

The answer is no. People in this country have no empathy whatsoever unless they are recording it for likes

If I’ve got it I give it, if they’re in active addiction I’ll offer food. “There but for the grace of God go I” is something I keep in mind.

Sometimes, an addiction is the consequence of being homeless.
@janebufton196028 күн бұрын
It's not always addiction. Life circumstances and relationship breakdowns. Can cause someone to be homeless. I as well as financial or lack of interest. Esoecalkt, if you re on your own. Limited help, if you are on your own. Very little help. If you have children, always have a roof over your head. On your own, park bench or doorway of shops to keep you warm. If you re Lucky.

People should never judge, until they know their circumstances behind their homelessness.
@vikingfrog7204Ай бұрын
Yes I would I HATE the trope of they'll only spend it on drugs. I'm sorry but if I was homeless and destitute, id drink and take drugs too, they do anything to take them out of the reality of living rough. Most people don't know they're born when it comes to standards of living.
@James_Doyle8329 күн бұрын
Well go to housing aid go to a homeless shelter don't take drugs

How do you know they are? Because they're sat outside Aldi?
@Steve_the_lion1075Ай бұрын
@@DVDfeverGames I think most people have the intelligence to recognize a homeless person from a non homeless person.
@DVDfeverGamesАй бұрын
@@Steve_the_lion1075 You think incorrect. I see loads of people asking the meth-head and professional beggar outside Aldi if she wants food, and they get her some, or give money. By the time I've finished my shopping, she's collected enough and run off somewhere else, or sometimes swaps with a mate who sits there for a while. Since I brought this up with Aldi, though, she's there a lot less often.
@DVDfeverGamesАй бұрын
@@Steve_the_lion1075 You'd be thinking completely wrong, then. I've seen people give food and money to the meth-head outside Aldi, who stays for a while and then naffs off somewhere else, sometimes swapping over with a mate. However, I've since been in touch with Aldi to ensure she doesn't come back, and it usually works. Why would you want that fake scrote hanging around outside? I've seen plenty of people like that, too.

been homeless took me 10 years to get out of the system so the lady is talking bollocks , tory scheme no second night out is the reason for the rising homeless population and also closing of services , while i was homeless alot of people who were in that community protected me from addictive drugs and did the same , more compassion from people lower then you than people who could have helped ( council literally said there's a pavement outside you can stay there , went to the night shelter and ended up with blankets, hot drinks and a meal that the residents of said shelter brought out at risk of their bed )

Well people should pay the rent then they won't become homeless
@janebufton196028 күн бұрын
Loss of job, loss of income, arrears. Loss of shelter, for various reasons. It's not always black and white as that. If it was life would be easy. Easy to say, people should " pay rent" we don't know people's circumstances" before, we judge, and say people should pay rent, know their situation first, before you can judge them.
