My 9900k heated up my room so much with a 280mm AIO that I went to AMD. With that same AIO on my 7800X3D I can't tell that my computer is on. I can't imagine having these new Intel CPUs cooking me here in Houston 😂

@@AshtonCoolman well, good for ya, just that the 13700K, yes an overclock variant, also feels the same as the 7800X3D in terms of temp. Only when you have the 13900K you will feel the heat

The possibility of getting a broken silicon with those high temperature is higher. One thing I like about this processor is that it scales high in performance in direct proportion to the power draw. Though I'll prefer a system that perform high at lower temps ❤❤❤❤

true, Although the broken silicon actually happens when there's big temperature differences rather than high temperatures, coz that can cause cracks in silicon :) I guess in rare cases it can happen in both situations, but the temperature shifts will be a bigger factor.

hey man, i have the 13700k with a small Noctua 92mm cooler with 2 92mm fans. I have a NH - U14 with 2 big fans as well, but i really didn't feel like the cpu needed the larger cooler. In every game or task i give it, the usage is always fairly low somehow and it doesn't get that hot..

Do you think the refresh i7-14700k will require liquid cooling with the power up grade? 14700K is not going to be that hot to cool though, only have 4 more e-cores to improve 20% of multi-core

Overclocking these cpus makes little sense for most people

For continuous load 24.7, yes. However with a proper block setup and chiller to keep coolant temps at ambient or slightly below it can be done. Of course VRM temps need to be controlled as well. Short benchmarks don't push the system into thermal saturation as would a heavy continuous load.
