why do you take fire blast cooldown talent? i like having the range a little more or even flamestrike crit%. I never really use fire blast in raids except to squeeze a tiny bit more damage out in the last .2sec of a boss fight.

The only usage of Fireblast in fire specc is when you are on combustion and on the last crit when you cast your last fireball inside combustion you are using fire blast at the same time so they can both crit

That reddit post is wrong, ignite stacks don't get replaced at all. The mage discord has a bunch of explanations on how ignite works, as well as proper sims to figure out stat weights, which depends on how many (fire)mages you have in the raid. There's also a newer Ignite weakaura that shows some additional threat info which will be quite useful.

Threat is a real thing so keeping ignites up as long as possible will most definitely kill the mage with the crazy damage. Wiping on twins from mages doing this will be a "blast"!

Don't have tear yet but I have Mind Quickening and TOEP, would you advise popping TOEP first with combustion to get higher ticks of ignite and then MQG after combustion falls off?

why would you take improved fireblast in Deepfire tho? I would go with 2x Incinirate + 2x Flame Throwing (not as useless as it seems) over 2x improved fireblast and 2x Arcane Meditation (according to my calculations you need the fight to last around 10 mins to get enough mana for 1 fireball from this talent).

I actually have a lot of problems with my aggro now in raids.. if the ignite ticks higher and higher the Tanks in my raid cant deal with it anymore. Do you guys have any tips? I use lips allready but this just helps for a few secounds. I also make a call for every mage cast frostboalts so the ignite goes off.. but its kind of sad because i have to slow down so often

Usually you need pyroblast so you can get blatz wave! Blatz wave is insane for aoe cause it proccs ignite and reduces movement speed of the mobs

YOu can use robes of volatile power! Enigma are a bit above but you can save dkp or epgp to get something more useful like a weapon or gloves/belt/ring/cloak from c'thun

when you get bracers and chest keep them for farm specc and try to farm rockfury bracers! The t2 set isn't good unless your RNG loves you! You can't rely your whole dps on a 10% procc

SP > Crit. Private servers had the wrong values and crit was more important. Not the case in classic though, SP is better.

This is incorrect. The value of crit compared to spell power for a fire mage is dependent upon five things: number of fire mages in the raid; mage team avg spell power, crit rating, and hit rating; and fight duration. I'd suggest you review the data gained from simulation experiments here github.com/ronkuby-mage/fire-mage-simulation for a much more detailed explanation. e.g. for a 5 mage team with avg hit of 95% and 650 spell power on a 2 minute fight (raw.githubusercontent.com/ronkuby-mage/fire-mage-simulation/decision-tree/plots/crit_equiv/crit_frostbolt_low_e1_u120_h95_n5_ss50000.png): @15% avg crit the next crit is equivalent to ~17 spell power @40% avg crit the next crit is equivalent to ~8 spell power

Многие гайды полная чушь. Почему люди не качают throwing ? ведь дальность дает фаер магу игнорить большую часть механик босса как у ханта. Это единственный кастер с такой дистанцией. Короче дистанция жизненна необходима бывает на многих боссах. Incinerate халявно дает 4% крита. Мы все равно кастуем 5 раз для бафа, так почему бы не повысить крит? и Flamestrike!!! о боги! почему все игнорят его:? ведь это дает целых 15% крита! а это основное аое у фаер мага. Талант дает взрывной показатель крита и заливает пачки мобов диким разовым уроном, обдавая их ещё и ignite. Родное у мага я доводил до 26% крита. 26% крита Карл! теперь плюсуй сюда крит от талантов и от всяких баффов в рейде. И почти каждый второй фаербол будет крит. Фаер маг реализуется исключительно от крита. Он живет от крита. Почему? да из за ignite. этот талант дает целых 40% как дот эффект от первоначального урона. разогнанный фаер маг долбит за 3т (может и несколько больше, зависит от условий) с фаербола с крита и +40% урона ещё. нехило так? плюс он возвращает 30% маны если крит. У мага достаточно возможностей восстановить ману. Evocation, мажорки маны, демон камни, и рубины маны. Более чем хватает. Тем более не забывайте. Та разница маны к примеру в 1-1.5т маны мы нивелируем критами и восстановлением части потраченной маны.
