This was a great interview. Much respect to Ion Hazzikostas for being more then knowledgeable. He’s able to answer more informatively then I can anticipate and that really solidifies WoW’s progression these past 2-3 years. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. Yeah, not everything has been absolutely incredible but here he is. Standing up for himself and our favorite game. Let’s be honest, their team has received a lot of back lash and they probably still do, but here he is representing WOW with respect for himself, his work, and his company. Good job WoW Devs for staying strong through angst and still developing for us!

Yea I hope there is a way to get good gear doing the content I enjoy. I would love grinding the thing I actually want to play at a reduced rate the easier the content gets. I have horrible luck so I hate relying on raid drops.

It's such a bummer these big interviews get like 5k views while the big streamers leach them for tens of thousands of views, these types of interviews or podcast guests from people on the dev team used to give so much exposure to different people in the wow community

I was going to watch this on another channel react video but I was getting sick of the pauses and other input and just wanted to hear the source. Dude literally made channels popular look at josh strife hayes he even admited it that asmongold made him and thanks him.. the best thing that can happen for a small streamer is for a big one to give you sttention at least a few thousand people will resonate with the content and you win.. you cant compare smaller channels with 2 3 years of content with someone that grinds youtube for 15years mate I would not be here and subscribe if not for a big streamer reacting to the content lol

The content I still enjoy is farming older raids. Now I'll finally be able to farm mythic Antorus for transmogs. It was so weird having to wait for three expansions instead of two to do that. Can't wait to get my hands on the Drakthyr as well. I'm sad that they aren't melee, so I'll never main one, but still look like amazing fun.

I am really glad legacy reputations are on the table for becoming account wide! I personally want to use different mains, but that is one of the biggest barriers as to why I can't. If I want to finish farming rep from places like Legion, I can only logically use the character I initially did the content in because it is the one that is furtherest ahead on reputations, and I'd be foolish to try and do it on Alts that haven't even started that content. I REALLY hope they move forward with account wide reps in DF and not 5 expansions from now.

Fun to find this interview 4 weeks late. Regarding reputation I have always liked the mist of pandaria alt reputation grind bonus. At revered on your main you could buy a token that increased rep gained by 50% for all your alts. Why not have that for every faction in the game? If you don't want that for current content faction, implement it in a x.2 patch?

I don't understand why we have to keep the Toxic Great Vault system. A weekly chore list of things to do for disappointing RNG loot that makes or breaks your gameplay and fun. So many times my friends or myself have quit because of the Vault. Why, just why can't we just get rid of it and just have Vendors where you take Valor or Raid tokens and buy BiS gear. So the progression is rewarding and fun for your time played instead of non stop weekly frustrations.

easy answer RNG will make gear progress longer and time gated for most of players(NOT affect high end players at all as you see they full gear somehow at first 2 week of patch) and its mean more money dont forget TIME IS CONTENT in eyes of blizz

It feels so strange to see Ion being relatively honest and open about these things. He's being as honest as he professionally can and not just giving vague answers. Looks like a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders (and most likely the rest of the WoW teams) and that bodes well for the future of WoW. Looking forward to getting my grubby little hands on DF. Doubt I'll change my main from my Undead Lock, but tempted to race change if they eventually add Locks to Dracthyr.

Wow I'd like more info on outdoor time walking. It made me think of launch day in a new zone but after awhile nothing's happening there that could be a awesome way to bring people back to older zones creating traffic with a purpose.

I think it's a shame that they haven't expanded on not only the defias brotherhood but the Scarlet crusade why abandoned those factions of enemies that could be developed even further in the older content it's still part of the game it's still a part of the game the people enjoy they don't really need to come out with new expansions every two years they need to improve and explore opportunities in the game that already exist

In terms of lore the Scarlet Crusade was wiped out in Wrath, and Defias is like a minor very local faction. Making them a major threat would be like making kobolds the big bad xD

@@Luthies Scarlett Onslaught came back again during mists of pandaria, only to be demolished by players and was again demolished by death knights during Legion. There are currently plot threads out there that hint at them recruiting and planning on using Genn as a tool.

I want to see a race to world first server, where everyone is equalised, have all the consumables provided and I level boosted to max level, with no raid reset until it is done. RTWF doesn't interest me at all but the butchering of sever economies does. they could even charge guilds to be on it if they are worried about profits.

Since we can now have all our characters on one server, it's a bit annoying for those of us that do have max-level characters on two different servers since they were made when you could not have Alliance and Horde on the same server. So it'd be nice if they'd allow us to move all of them to one server.

@@shehran6936 I am also not wearing 50 shirts at the same time right now, even if I have them in my closet. How I enjoy my time on WoW is my business. If it is rotating through 50 characters than so be it. I do not raid, or pvp anymore. I achievement hunt, mount hunt, transmog hunt and pet hunt. Having 50 characters helps in ways you may not be able to understand I guess. I am also disabled and have a shit ton of free time to kill. Clog up what servers? You do know, right now, I could make a new free account and make 50 more characters, and then make another free account and continue to do this forever right? Servers are made to hold this obscene amount and then some. Your argument there is invalid. People at account cap, for years now, should not be forced to make a new account when a new class is introduced. We should also not be forced to delete a character who might have years of work put into them either. Name hoarding isn't a thing (not for long anyway). WoW purges names after an expansion of inactivity. Trust me, I've snagged some cool names recently, just had to wait for the person to inactive long enough. If the name doesn't clear up after said inactivity petition blizzard support. I've done that as well. Cause no system is without flaws.

18:42 Of course, yes....... That's why Feedback is largely ignored and situations like BFA and Shadowlands become what they are. I know you shouldn't always listen to the players...but there are times when the players are right and you just have to give in. I can think of many examples, but the one that comes to mind the most is Balance of Power in Legion. On day 1 of Shadowlands that mission should have become account-wide. Or cosmetics that have NO IMPACT on our characters performance but we can still only use them for 4-10 days a year for reasons that only they, Blizzard, understand. I understand that toys have CD's because some can become annoying. But how can it become annoying to someone if my character wears a dress or uses a mount ? People have been farming those cosmetics for years in 4-10 days a year. People earned the right to wear them. Let the players have fun.

They need to increase the character limit to 100 and also allow names but have a number pinned to it so it can be differentiate from others with the same name in the friends/guild tab. Like there is no reason for me not to. Other games allow this, WoW is still 10 years behind in terms of tech they can use to improve the game 10 fold and have people enjoy it a lot more. Imagine the money they would make...

The work order system is another non needed convenience system that dilutes the actual experience of an mmo. All it does is ruin player interaction. They talk about inter connected worlds and all this connection, but it's the exact opposite.

@@knottalone899 nope, allied races is basically the factions just having races join the not having to do with wars aka the vulpera, they said they won’t do normal races since allied means they don’t have a huge starting area and quests, instead ur other guy just does an smaller quest chain to unlock. Allied race= new races but without the lvl 1-20 race questing zone and just skips right into main city at a slightly higher lvl

Ion's answer for the account-wide rep question was something that is kinda irking, rep being seperate for characters is really obnoxious, there might be some sense of fantasy when you're doing the rep the first time, but reps are not fun to grind multiple times on the same account, it's annoying.

I understand the need to balance dev cycles between played content and additional systems. WoW really misses the mark by not having player housing or pointing us to garrisons. There is so much potential that they can use a housing system for. I would gladly give up a raid tier to have a consistent player housing experience that allowed for customization of item placement. Blizz can do what they do best and rip off ESO and make it better. So much potential is wasted....

Die with it’s playerbase of old folks? My guy, this game launched in 2004, not 1980, and back then many players were in their teens. Appealing to the younger generation that has largely already moved on to other genres isn’t nearly as important as retaining its existing base. Besides, I have plenty of friends and guildies in their mid-late 20s. I’m 19 myself. It’s not as dead as you think.
