Dolly said she first heard Whitneys version of IWALY in the car on the radio driving home, and she was so stunned she pulled over, (and with admiration) knew Whitney owned it. Dolly has also said when she recorded IWALY (written by her on a tour bus on a napkin struggling with going solo leaving Porter Wagner, and Dolly so caring, the emotions involved, of leaving her mentor, bless) that when she, Dolly, recorded IWALY she was "able to put some $ in the bank." There's a reason Whitney was known as The Voice. This is one of my faves. You should check out the music video/live performance of Didn't We Almost Have It All. That blew me away and solidified her voice as a true powerhouse. I usually don't like remakes of songs but she killed the remake of Chaka Khan's I'm Every Woman. Her icon status became permanent with the Dolly Parton written song I Will Always Love You. It's a great song that I grew to dislike only bc it was played all the time everywhere. It's from the hit movie The Bodyguard starring Whitney and Kevin Costner. But seriously, every Whitney song is fantastic and she gives her all on every record. Love your channel and stay blessed!

Whitney Houston is the GOAT!! I remember hearing her for the first time on the radio singing You Give Good Love and I cranked that volume UP!! I was driving over Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel at the time and I'll never forget how perfect the song was with the visual I was seeing of the open waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
