Wow that 1947 ML is very nice. I’ve found George the Fifth this week in quarters . It was dated 1929. Hope the best of luck to you

@@CADRollHunter Just finding silver in quarters is hard for me. I average around 1-3 silver quarters every year. I have so much better luck with dimes. My oldest dime I found was a 1939.

Exciting quarter hunt! Congratulations for your 2 silvers. I did find a 1947 Maple Leaf quarter sometimes last year, in a hunt, and it's more or less in the same condition as yours... My latest silver finds are a 1968 dime is quite nice condition, a beauty, with moderate circulation wear, and a 1964, still in nice condition. I have more dimes and quarter rolls to hunt, and this time, I didn't look at them in advance... Regarding quarters, I got a full box from one bank, with nothing crazy, all in identical wrapper, not even an American, so did someone go through them? Hard to say. However, at the second bank, I picked up the only lonely hand wrapped quarter roll they had, and it was a nickel dump! Almost all were old nickel, no silver, but still quite promising, because it's the kind of rolls where I often find silver, or (almost) uncirculated old nickel coins, I also keep... I recently fount one of those 2000 Canada Post tokens, in pristine shape, my 2nd in career... Odds are good, and let's see what the future will bring us...
@CADRollHunter5 ай бұрын
I've yet to find one of those CP tokens, but apparently they're out there! Good luck in your hunts!

@@CADRollHunter Oh! I thought you also found 2 of these, but it must be Emmanuel then, who found 2 of these in the same bundle of rolls, sometimes last year. So yes, they're out there, and they have the same specs as 100% nickel quarters: 23.88mm diameter and 5.05g, so same planchets. You'll certainly find one sooner or later...

I decided to start coin hunting. Ordered my first box of quarters from CIBC, got home so excited to open it, just to find out it was all 2022 quarters. Each one of them. 2 thousand 2022 quarters. I'm so disappointed.
@CADRollHunter5 ай бұрын
That would be really disappointing! I always ask for customer wrapped rolls. Boxes from the Mint usually have a paper tape across the front with the RCM logo. If that hasn't been cut open before, they'll likely be all new. Tellers usually won't mind if you ask to open the box first before you take it. And if you see that tape, don't feel obligated to take the box!
@lucasslf5 ай бұрын
@@CADRollHunter thanks for the tips! I didn't notice the RCM tape until I was at home! But now I know! Next time it won't happen again. I really enjoy the channel, btw. You are such a nice guy!

As an American I never knew Canada was the first country to have color on coins, why do they have color? What inspired it?
@CADRollHunter5 ай бұрын
Well, I think the Royal Canadian Mint is always striving to innovate. The colourized coins were really well received in Canada, and got attention around the world. I'm not sure why they started, exactly, but I'm happy they did.

@@bigo2032 I'm a regular viewer of RFT (I'll bet that's no surprise!). I know that he has "Members Only" videos that are only available for people who pay for memberships. This is an incentive for people to join and provide some ongoing income to support his channel. I only know this because he's mentioned it and it's listed as a membership perk. As a non-member I can't actually see these videos listed anywhere, so it doesn't really affect me in any way. I just watch his new videos as they come out. I recently introduced memberships and opted to provide members early access (this is a common perk) as an incentive/perk for joining. In the past, only Members would see these videos listed. A few weeks ago KZbin started making them visible for for non-members. I imagine they did that to encourage folks to join. At the moment, I don't have any actual "members-only" videos, but that might change. In any case, you can watch every video that comes out on my channel. If you see a video listed as "Members Only" you can expect it to be public within a day or two.
