They built a beautiful hearth back in 1800s for a log cabin. I'd like to do smoked foods like chicken, whole ham, bacon, beef brisket. People do bar b q food trucks to slow cook meat. Have a goal to do a small hempblock house. You can design kitchen you want. Nice to have good window place. Tall order architect plans for kitchen with Pantry for mixung up bread or cake... desserts, place for a wheat mill - a La Nordica woodstove just for aesthetics really as can do an electric oven or cook with dutch oven in fireplace. Also like your woodburning pot bellied stove, maybe with a ring on smokestack to dehydrate jerky. Most of all want to do a hearth to roll in a grill or smoker... designed to handle cool smoke ( using a vent and a particulate filter). Can use a pellet grill to smoke turkey in that cook fireplace( with an electric outlet to plug in smoker in an alcove of fireplace). Nice for winter baking,

Lavender is so humble and well-behaved. (Our border collies are spoiled by special snacks too). I believe she enjoyed her steak.....Archie will be jealous! 😊

She is! Archie has his favorite things and trust me he gets them. Cereal milk! That’s his kryptonite😂😂.

I grew up on my Dad's beef ranch in Argentina, and we never grill over open flame,only over hardwood or fruit wood embers that are gray..low and slow..sill get char and very juicy meat,but we do salt all meat before grilling,and would do steers on the iron cross over the embers,constantly tended..very delicious...full organic grazed cattle..❤

Spend the extra 10 seconds to even out your rack so that the steaks don't hang over, ensuring an even cook. Looks great!

We almost killed out minschauzer by giving her steak fat. She ended up with pancreatitis and had to be on meds the rest of her life because small dogs can't process meat fat well.😞

@bobjohnson17107 ай бұрын
Not to get you going, but in my humble opinion, if you're alone out in the woods eating a steak you just cooked over a roaring camp fire using your fingers because your Government issue olive drab plastic spoork isn't cutting the mustard, by all means, enjoy your steak. But on the otherhand, if you're sitting in your kitchen, filming a video less than 10 feet from a whole drawer full of silverware, a fork seems like a great idea to avert controversy. @@shirleyvastine9328

I've liked your videos...but sure wonder...you being a Christian kinda guy ...the statement you made in this video is disturbing...."I'm Not feeding my dog like a savage " I think that is Sooooooo Bad !!!
@logcabinlifestyle7 ай бұрын
I think you’re overthinking it. First, I had to go look up the meaning or meanings of the word just to make sure. (violent, wild, frightening) One could very easily say that I was eating like a savage. After all it was red meat and I didn’t even use a fork. As matter of fact I ripped the meat into pieces. What you probably couldn’t see is that I had juices from the meat dripping off of my fingers. That’s pretty savage if you ask me.
