Say after me Josh: "No-el" 😉😁As someone who knew long before this vid came out that the pair of you were planning on taking these flights together it's a real shame that it just couldn't happen but that the world we live in right now eh. At least you got much better seats than Mr Phillips 🤣 Unfortunately Noel will never be able to fly there again as a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Apparently they take 'fly posting' very seriously in Kyrgyzstan and didn't take well to his sticker being illegally placed on airport property (( JKS )) Total legend of a station manager and if I ever get to that part of the world ( Uzbekistan is already on my 'fall back list' for this Nov' so it's not outside the realms of possibility at this point) then TezJet have already made themselves my designated carrier just on the amazing customer service provided by that guy.

Josh, your treated like Aviation Royalty in Kyrgyzstan, had a similar experience with British Airways last year, they were great. Then I woke up and realised I had been dreaming, send the Babushka`s to British Airways, they will sort them out! A Mad Dog and a Whisper Jet in one day, wow, I`m impressed!

Amazing. Some months ago, I booked SYD-CBR-PER just to get on the QF Boeing 717 on the first leg. Of course with covid-19, booking are unstable and the 717 was downgauged to a Q300. I contacted the call center to explain I'm a KZbinr and wanted to get on the 717. So the call center arranged for me to fly SYD-CBR-SYD-PER... With the SYD-CBR-SYD portion on 2 717 flights! No extra charge! This wouldn't have been possible without their help. Now HE'S a legend.

Also nice to see the respect aviation KZbinrs have for each other. No bashing or trying to be better than the other. In the end you have the same passion, but you have your own style. I have to admit that it brings home my age when I watch you and other younger avgeeks wax enthusiastic about planes that were workhorses when I was growing up. I never had much affection for the MD-80 or its predecessor the DC-9...but I loved the 727. Now there was a great plane-at least so I thought as I flew routes it absolutely owned, such as DCA-LGA and DCA-BOS. But...thanks for reminding me that any plane can become fascinating and exciting. After all, I've never had the chance to fly an Avro and I envy you.

So cool Josh! Only flown the Avro once with Aer Lingus a few years ago. The seat definitely was on the tight side, but for little over an hour’s flight, it was bearable. The nostalgia of being on epic jetliner was what kept me forgetting the seat! We rocketed out of LCY and it was a smooth ride. Keep up the great, safe flights!! Fantastic to see you and Noel doing the same flights with different perspectives!

I was always pleased when Swiss had an Avro (although the 100 version) on the Manchester Zurich flight. Although it was a better experience inside the cabin as they only had 5 seats across. Yes they were quiet - I believe one of their nicknames was Whisper Jet (the other being Jumbolina). On the return leg it was sometimes on a Fokker 100 operated by Helvetic for Swiss, also 5 seats across. Both great aircraft, both sadly no longer operated on that route. As for the Mad Dog, I only ever flew on the DC9 with the airstairs in the tail - although I preferred the BAC 1-11 (now that gives my age away, although not quite as much as my first ever flight which was on a Comet 4b!)

Hi Josh. I used to operate the RJ100 for CityFlyer Express (a subsidiary of BA) back in the late 90's. All the RJ's were known as "whisper jets" which is why they're so quiet. Liked working on them as cabin crew, although it was the only aircraft I had a decompression on and my only "rubber jungle" with all the masks down. Great times!

I loved flying MD-80s. If you got a seat toward the front on the left side with the two seats in the row, it was really quiet and comfortable. I haven’t flown on the BAe-146 as a passenger since 1989. I now fly them and love these aircraft. Granted it’s for firefighting, but I have to give props because it is so maneuverable down in those canyons!

I've been on the Avro rj85 five times with CityJet and lemme not lie those four engines were soo loud when sitting behind it. Nice trip! As a passenger on many Northwest and Delta flights, I have some experience with both of these aircraft types. Mesaba, operating as Northwest Airlink, used to operate the Avro RJ85 between smaller cities and Northwest hubs. I flew them many times between my home airport and MSP. I called it the "mini 747". I also flew the MD8x series aircraft a lot on Northwest, Delta, and American.

I flew Mesaba's ARJ's between MSP and Regina a few times. They were much quieter and more comfortable than the CRJ or the Embraer E-jets. I miss Northwest - they offered a much better product and service than Delta.

I have flown many times with Avro's in the past. Mostly with Avro 85 and 100 from Swedish BRA (Braaten Aviation). Before that with the 146. I also remember a flight with an Avro 70 from SAS (operated by Transwede) to London City Airport. What an approach over the Thames. Landings were generally soft with these planes. Even in bad weather.

Thanks Josh for such a positive video. I only recently just watched Noel's mad dog 80 video. You definitely had the better seat !😂.... although it seemed just as noisy in the front row, as Noel's seat in the back !🤣 The Avro on the 1st leg.... Gee , those 4 engines seemed far too big for such a comparatively small plane. But then again I guess thats what gave it it's ability to take off and land on shorter runways.

Air Canada used these planes for several years in the 1990s. Back then were named BAE146. They had an unusual sound I remembered when landing as the engines would suddenly change pitch that alarmed some passengers, but was a natural characteristic of this particular aircraft. 👍

Had a late night partying, and an early morning for the flight, forgot I paid for my overweight bag online, so paid at the airport as well. But the manager came and found me after I had gone through security with a full refund for the baggage because he caught that I had already paid. Plus, I got a seat just behind the wing, so was able to use the back centre stairs, coming out behind the engines was super cool
