Somehow, this new toy manages to avoid all that while scratching essentially the same itch. Also, it's good to see the trailer has returned to its proper, longer proportions.

This review really helped me with transforming my Optimus, my only complaints on Optimus are his paint chips a lot during the transformation and the fact that for a G1 Optimus this is a very complex transformation process. Other than that this Optimus is by far the best Optimus Prime made and this review is very good! Now all we need is a G1 Megatron, Soundwave and Shockwave 86 Studio Series.

Ngl, call me crazy, but I still prefer Earthrise Prime over this Commander class one - It might be less accurate to the G1 cartoon, but I still think that overall it's a better figure. In my opinion, the Earthrise one has a much better head sculpt snd I think it having a simpler transformation is a plus and not a minus since both of them look very good for what they are and yet, one's may more complicated than the other, and for the Earthrise only having the wheels on his back as the kibble, it's not that bad. I would say that the only thing I like about the Commander one more than the Earthrise one is the scale, mostly in the truck mode. So I guess overall I think that this Commander Optimus Prime is still a good figure, but I don't think it's the best one we got ( or at least, it's not as ''godsent'' as people call it )

They have said they plan to make a studio series figure for every Transformer in every movie, and they are just working through the list. So if they have even a few frames of screentime in 86 then yes. For G1 characters that don’t appear in the 86 movie I am sure they will get legacy releases. Like Gears or Beachcomber.

Studio series 86 movie Commander class Optimus Prime is so fantastic! Despite minus issue, but for my opinion this figure is still awesome. I so sympathy that crack area, PrimevsPrime. Super spectacular video, PrimevsPrime, transform and ROLL OUT 🤗! "Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost ".

I groan whenever I see Primes over-engineered for the sake of incorporating a faux grill. I get its for the animation accuracy, but there have to be more elegant ways to pull off the shift in dimensions of the grill than including an entire false front. Why not make the lower part of the cab a rotating plate? Could also accommodate the silver striping. EDIT - on the other hand, that leg engineering is some of the best I've seen.
