I am very happy with ER Prime, but these are just completely different beasts. If someone already has ER Prime and is happy, sure this one might not be worth it. But I don't understand how you could say to buy ER Prime AND a bunch of other stuff INSTEAD of this one. That's just silly.

It’s accurate to how Prime’s head appeared in some shots in the cartoon. 😆 Sometimes his head would be more round, sometimes it would be blockier. Consistency was never the show’s strength.

The taillights/heels on prime are assembled wrong, so the heel pieces are swapped on the legs and upside down. It’s not a huge issue and barely noticeable but it does affect how it looks in truck mode, and sits a mm or two off from flush.

Even without SS86, I've stopped since Megatron 2.0. Not into the overly Sunbow aesthetic. The worsening QC and ever increasing price didn't help the MP case.

I am glad I held out. I was tempted by the MP collection, but they just didn't have that official "feel". I don't know how to describe it other than that. I guess they weren't enough to grab me. The SS86 series is what pulled me in. In fact, I got pulled in only very recently with this Prime preorder. I already have a few figures. I'm looking forward to collecting more.

The head flip on mine was super tight too. Had to watch a video to see if I was doing something wrong. Always worry when you need tonpress harder than you think on something. As much as I love MP-44 that will probably never be a truck again lol. This one is more fun and hits all the feels. Earthrise was always "meh" for me. Solid but not quite right. SS-86 will be tough to beat. Now what to do about those heels.... Great review as always.

Unfortunately I have yet to get the head completely inverted. Without being able to get that panel all the way up, it impedes the rest of the cab transformation and nothing else lines up. I may have to do some shaving inside that head compartment.

There is some irony in the fact that the same culture that gave the world the continuous improvement concept of "poka-yoke" allowed heels to be designed that can be mis-assembled and still allow the figure to be successfully transformed.
