Nice. Colorado is beautiful and amazing. Much better than here in Florida. I'm in Miami. You have beautiful mountains in the distance everywhere you look, pleasant summers, nice air. I saw a news reel that lots of people showed up to a shelter to temporarily foster the animals there, especially the dogs in outdoor kennels. I hope all shelters in Zones A, B, and C did this.

People need to realize that the Category of the storm is just the wind and stuff but whats gonna cause the damage and loss of life is the storm surge. The height of the wall of water stays the same in between the different categories, so it could b a Cat 3 but still do same damege as a Cat 5.

@@sarahholland2600 No, we know how elevated different areas are. They are split up into multiple zones, from A to E. Zone A is the most prone to flooding, E being the least prone. Some areas are outside of zone designation because they're far enough inland where storm surge really isn't a factor. Zones A, B, and C are all under mandatory evacuations. That essentially means all of downtown Tampa and St. Pete are under evacuation orders. I live outside of any evacuation zones in Tampa, so we're riding the storm out.

It's common knowledge that hurricanes regularly hit these areas, and how catastrophic they can be. If you try to "ride it out", you will have no one to blame but yourself for the consequences. Best of luck to the people that live down there, but man...there's a reason I never bought a house at the base of an active volcano, on the edge of a river known for massive flooding, or in the most twister-prone valley of tornado alley, you know?
