Eyy cheers man. Can use mouse and keyboard on console if you didn't know! It's just the movement that takes a bit of getting used to but didn't take too long. It does feel like a faster route, need to make it a tiny bit longer for 1 more tough nugget though, forgot about the 1 needed to craft the smithing station so couldn't max my dagger :(

Thanks! Took a lot of practice. I would like to run most of the major parts of this game like story any%, each boss, all bosses, black widow, etc. Once I've figured out how to even get to the mantis and then killed it a few times I think that'll be my first 1.0 run, unless there's something game changing that makes a sub 30 broodmother possible, then I'll do that first instead.

He would need to manage the durability though cause repair glue is needed to fix that one, unless he upgraded with quartzite to repair the weapon each time it got low dura.

Thanks! Just takes a bit of practice tbh. Go find a wolf, save your game, get it to attack you and just practice parrying it for a bit. Load your save when you die and try again. You'll get there!

I didn't account for the 1 nugget to craft the smithing station so was one short of maxing my weapon though, so if I got one extra nugget, didn't forget to equip my dandelion and if that orb weaver didn't delay me save scumming the wolf venom this woulda been an eaaasy sub 35

@@Curcassian4ever That wasn't a mistake, it exploded as I killed the ladybug so it was worth trying to unlock it straight away and pray I had enough time. If I didn't try to unlock it then it's dead time just waiting for it to explode again. I guess I could've not waited to loot the ladybug, ran over to unlock immediately and looted it on the way out actually, just couldn't think that fast in the moment. Will do that in future, thanks!

Nice run man! Using those 3 bratbursts in your inventory at the end might have actually shaved a few seconds off your time. They are great for killing all the adds, and if you had gotten a few direct hits on the mama, that might have finished the fight faster. Since they made all the spiders immune to poison since you recorded this, it's going to be hard to beat this time using the same exact strategy.

Thanks! Yeah this run they probably did cost me more time than it would to have blown them up, but it is usually faster to ignore them. Also needed one more upgrade rock to get my dagger to level 5, didn't account for the one needed for the smithing station :(. Actually all spiders were 100% immune during early access (when I did this run) but they were accidentally made vulnerable to poison with 1.0. In one of the post 1.0 patches they gave spiders a variable poison resistance based on difficulty, so this same strat should actually be more effective now. Just checked, here's this from patch 1.0.4: Spiders are no longer immune to poison, and instead have 25-90% poison resistance depending on species/tier. Black Widow being the exception, which is still fully immune to poison.

I reckon I could almost match you with perfect blocks, but that double wolf spider was really impressive, even on easy. Shame multiplayer makes blocking like that so much more difficult, the servers have a touch too much lag to pull off every time. You have inspired me to take on the brood mother. For sure. Still going through the story but once we've done that and killed the mantis I'll know which of the longer runs I'll wanna do first. Not sure if I'll do 100% but I'm keen for mantis and glitched/glitchless any%. Might do all bosses at some point too. So the longer runs are likely at least a week away but I'm thinking of doing a couple different black widow runs (sub 10 should be doable) in the next couple days so stay tuned!

Your skills with the parry are outstanding but why don’t you get used to playing in 3rd person to see other enemies around you so maybe you could avoid some damage like in the final fight. The more information you have, the better off you’ll be and can easily counter/avoid unnecessary damage. In first person, you can only see what is in front of you meaning less information about what’s going on around you. You’re amazing tho. Hope to see more speed runs on 1.0

You're definitely right about having more information but third person makes me feel like I have less precise control of my character. That sounds counterintuitive because in 3rd you can see where your feet are, so I think it's more that I like to block cancel literally all the time (sometimes to my detriment) and I can see exactly when to block cancel better in 1st. Maybe it would just take getting used to though like you said, because I've been switching to 3rd occasionally while playing the story as it feels a bit more cinematic and quite enjoying it. In regards to the BM fight I'm not really fussed, I wanna focus her as much possible so just jump a lot and accept I'm gonna get hit by the adds; I don't usually get that close to dying. In other fights with multiple bugs I track and time them individually so know roughly when to turn.

I don't have any health upgrades in these runs so it'll look like it's healing more if you're used to having health upgrades like from the molars or meat shield mutation. I'm doing nothing special with the bandages. I only eat mushrooms so that my hunger doesn't drop too low and my stamina gets cut in half. Continuously attacking after the 3rd hit is called block cancelling. If you tap block right after your attack lands you can attack again immediately. You can do this after every attack but the first hit in a combo does 50% damage so this would actually do less damage overall. Use Gas arrows to take care of the adds.

Could do, the adds don't slow me down too much though and crafting a bow, gas arrows and maybe gas mask would. The gas would also damage her though and I'd be able to focus on her more easily, so maybe it would be worth it

Ah sorry, didn't even think about that. Safe to assume I don't have arachnophobia mode on my videos unless stated, which as of right now is none of my videos. I wanna run Broodmother again after I finally get the Mant run done and I also wanted to do an arachnophobia BM run, so I'll do it then and ping you when it's up. Not sure when that'll be because it'll obviously have to be a new PB

two shotting acorns with a stone hammer and no mutations?

Your 3 attack combos do 50%, 100%, 150% damage, so I miss the first attack on the way to the acorn so I can land the heavier attacks. Plus it's on mild so resources require less damage to harvest. Anything else in the run seem sus?

@@HolyCodzta no that was the only part that seemed odd to me, didnt notice you missing the first on purpose, good tip though, just skip the first hit since its basically unneeded.

The boiling glands mannnnn. I think I could rely more on rng and cut out the bombardiers at the start and just go for the three near the hedge ascent at the end. Risky though
