game piggy use it as a way to break the cycle. When you have a child be there for them no matter what. Teach them and praise and hold them responsible when they are old enough to be. Most importantly tell them that you love them. To many men are afraid to show emotion. The world is hard and men need to be strong in the world. Your family should always know the real you. Just some advice from a father of 2 boys working on being men.

This is crazy. This is a question I am asking myself all the time. Since Covid hit (here in Germany), I've been drinking more, for sure. Not to an alarming rate but to a degree I am not really comfortable with anymore to be honest. I keep myself entertained by making KZbin videos, my university degree and my job but yet - somehow I drink more than usual (even though all this stuff already takes up almost 90% of my time). I believe it was Tacitus who said that the biggest strength and weakness of the early Germanics was their ability to drink a lot. On one hand they could drink all night long but once they were drawn to the alcohol the romans provided them, they were easily pursaded and turned into roman puppets. It's hard to see ones potential go to waste because of something like that. I don't what this video means for me but it's eerie to watch it because I recognize myself in a lot of what You're saying Cody. You're such an inspiration on how you're taking care of your family and how you are approaching life in general. May your video have a positive impact on all of Us. Kind Regards Wicki

I’m definitely not stronger than any other man. But for the sake of my children I’ve decided never to allow alcohol in my house. seems like that’s the best choice. Some people can handle it, some people can’t, might as well not take the chance. Prayers to all of you who are trying to overcome the addiction. I can’t imagine how hard it would be.

Cody, the thing I appreciate the most about this subject within your faith is that you don’t think alcohol is inherently sinful. I’ve never had a problem with alcohol, but I get berated by a lot of brothers and sisters in Christ for drinking a beer.

This, I’m sure, is one cause for alcoholism in the church. The topic itself is so taboo that anyone struggling with it fears the thought of reaching out for help and cannot find a support system in their church. God only gave us ten laws to follow - if He thought alcohol had no place in man’s life we would have 11 commandments.
@thirzapeevey23953 жыл бұрын
If alcohol is a sin, then Jesus is a sinner who cannot take our punishment because he has his own to pay. Anytime your understanding of the Bible makes Jesus a sinner, you have the wrong understanding. That said, the Bible certainly does make drunkenness a sin, over and over and over. As long as you aren't getting drunk, it isn't a sin.

If you wanna quit drinking, put every empty bottle or can into a room that you don’t go into or rarely visit. Throw in the receipts as well and after a month look at all the empties and how much you spent... it won’t be long before you quit!

@@remodz6385 Depends on where you live I would take it. Cheapest vodka you can legally buy in Sweden is 25 dollars for a 70cl bottle. A heavy habit will make quite a dent in an average salary. (not to mention if you're drinking at a bar/restaurant, hard pressed to find a drink under 15 bucks, a beer is rarely under 8. )

I’ve been clean/sober for 29 years. I work as a substance abuse counselor. Would you like to know how I’ve stayed sober for so long? I didn’t drink. Once you stop doing that the rest is relegated to how do you want to feel and what would you like your life to look like? The insidious piece to addiction is that it works. As in, it changes the way you feel. Once you stop drinking you have to put effort into your spiritual, emotional, mental and physical well being. It’s a multi-pronged approach. You matter. Those around you matter. Sobriety holds value and you are that value. Keep working, Cody. Anything with having is with the effort you expend.
