I use a sheet on the hood under the cover and carpet protector for the sides when traveling 100 miles or longer. No problems on my VXR.

I had a rock guard mesh system installed on the front of my trailer that way rocks won’t hit my hull and I can confidently tow without a cover. Also had PPF applied to all black paint on the top deck of my Ultra 310. Probably excessive but much needed to satisfy my OCD!

I’ve driven back and forth from Texas to Florida and always use the factory BRP cover and never had a problem. I believe having the swim step holding down the back might be why. Also having the bars adjusted up a bit also helps keep it tight. Do what you want these are just tips to keep it on.

just my experience from florida. i store my expensive skiis outside w small boat covers - go on easy remove back seat and storage bin. double bonus w those removed my solar bat charger fits right in. zero hydro lock / vapor in motor whatsoever.

cover scratched up both sides of my new fx. Dont use them for Transportation, like he says, the wind whip us unforgiving on the paint. if its stationary and outside, thats the only time it should be covered.

I wouldn’t go even two miles down the road with a cover on. Maybe below 35 mph but not at highway speed.

@@watercraftjournal I actually agreed with everything Kevin said but we take it a step further. Something could be said concerning the vehicle your pulling with and how much turbulence is behind it. Pickups generate a lot of rough air from the box. Tires are another consideration if a person is concerned about stones being thrown. Back to the cover whipping. Most people don’t understand that the longer it whips its generating heat on both the cover and the surface that it’s hitting. That’s why covers can be so destructive on any finish over extended uses. It’s literally using heat to destroy your toy. Great content as always.

Yeah. Like Kevin said previously, around town at 35mph, cover is fine. Highway speed, nope... Tbh, on the open road, I'm more worried about stone chips on the hull personally. Oh btw, sorry I missed the live show today, I had toyota issues I had to attend to... And guess what... Yeah, Toyota. Lol.

Put the factory SeaDoo GTI 170 SE cover on my 2022 ski for the first time today. I store my ski on a pontoon floating dock. It absolutely scratched the SHIT out of my piano black plastics (main phone storage bin). Really disappointed
