When the physics switched over on the slush I got chills. That was a seamless transition. People are saying while this isn't a true rally sim, it's a great "rally experience" and this video proves it. That was an incredible drive. I really need to get a new computer, ugh.

Man the sound in this game is something else, I imagine it really serves a setup like yours. A pretty crucial part of immersion that you as the player usually have little control over. Awesome stage and drive too, genuinely gave me chills and puckers at some points. I know I'm gushing, but this setup, with the most immersive rally game we've ever had, just feels special.

Outside of the damage, to a degree, this is most definitely a rally sim. Ive put countless hours in rally games over the past 7 or 8 years, and circuit sims (ACC mainly), and the improvements made in this game as far as handling and physics is nothing short of impressive. The tarmac physics are better, the ice, the snow, even gravel. I was not expecting any of these areas to be improved so much. Im truly blown away with how good this game is. It just feels great.

Wow this was awesome! Your setup is insane, looks so authentic! Please do more clips like this! Also, don't know if you have it this way on purpose, but the visuals would probably look a lot better with the in-game brightness/gamma setting lower as it all looks quite washed out and flat here. You might get better depth / distance perception as lowering it usually bumps the contrast a little and makes the colours/shadows richer, this is true on console at least a lot of the time.

You're right about the brightness/gamma settings, and it can certainly make a difference. However, capturing the perfect visuals is a balancing act. I film with a GoPro mounted on a helmet, so I have to consider not only the in-game settings but also the settings on my triple TVs, the camera, and even during editing. What are your thoughts on the game so far? I'm enjoying it a lot, but I do feel like the driving is easier than Dirt Rally 2. The physics feel a bit more intuitive and predictable, and I feel like it's overall an improvement. It's too bad there isn't any VR support though. Maybe they'll add it in the future along with some better optimization to get rid of all those freaking stutters and maybe get us a few extra frames. The career mode also makes it more enjoyable, but I want some daily challenges to grind out!

You can find all my specs in the video description, but just to highlight, I'm running with a 4090. I too experience random stuttering. I'm constantly tweaking settings from stage to stage, trying to find that perfect balance. The smoother visuals in my video come from the post-production process. When I edit, I utilize DaVinci's motion flow feature (the one that estimates the next frame) to smoothen out any major stuttering, making it a more pleasurable viewing experience for you all. Thanks again for the support, and I hope we both find a permanent fix to the stuttering issue soon!🤞🙂

What's your opinion on the steering latency? .. is it mostly a setup issue or is EA WRC actually damping the steering movements no matter what steering wheel or setup is used? I have the EA WRC but have tried only a three stages so far. I was and I'm still hoping for better physics modeling vs DR2.

Thank you for the kind words! Regarding steering latency, I haven't experienced any with my Fanatec setup. If there was latency, it would be challenging to drive as I do. Personally, I feel that WRC offers a better driving experience compared to DR2.0. The only issue I've encountered is some micro-stuttering. 🙄 Do you notice steering latency on your end? Which wheel are you using?

@@ProjectSimRacing The steering wheel lag might be setup related at least partially. I have a Simucube 2 Pro but haven't had a chance to test or setup this new WRC too much yet. However, here is a video on this topic: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6mZlo16o95jrdk What I mean is that even in your video the fast and large steering wheel movements maybe appear like they are actually somewhat dampened in the actual car movement. Some people may play the WRC with simple game controllers where this kind of behaviour could actually be helpful but for steering wheel maybe not at all. Based on my limited WRC experience this is overall quite similar to DR2 but I was hoping for better improvements in the physics modeling. One concern is that you can drive over all kinds of bumps with mostly some generic shakes or relatively little effects or even drive in a ditch w/o major problems. This is quite similar to DR2. Maybe too much realism would scare away some players which may be behind this kind of approach. Another major concern is the pivot point of the car where it's not actually behaving like a real car but rotating around vertical axel somewhat in the middle of the car. Here is another video of this problem which has been the same in DR2: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5-xgp-EfNCmf9k If we start comparing EA WRC to let's say iRacing rallycross the car behavior is much more realistic in iRacing. The car reacts more realistic to bumps, weight distribution is much better, the car doesn't rotate around a center pivot point and so on. No sim is perfect but I was sure hoping they could've done a better job with EA WRC regarding the physics modeling. Maybe it could be improved in the future updates along with small issues like occasional stuttering of graphics. Even though I complain about the physics details it's still very fun to drive and I'll be spending time driving/racing WRC.

It's something that can definitely take away from the immersion, especially for those of us keen on details. Thanks for the compliment mate! Even though I haven't spent a ton of time on the game yet, it felt familiar right off the bat, probably because of its similarities to DR2.0. In my opinion, WRC 23 is an improvement in all areas, especially on the physics front. I've heard some say it's easier than DR2, but I genuinely think that's because of the enhanced FFB, which provides a clearer connection to the road. The weight transfer, especially during left foot braking, feels refined and more nuanced. All in all, it's a fantastic experience, and I'm thrilled with it. I just want them to fix the stuttering 🙄 How about you? Have you felt the difference?

I can relate, I used to run on the GTX 1080 before upgrading. It was a great card for its time. WRC 23 is definitely more demanding, but once you're all set with your PC overhaul, the experience will be next level, especially on a DD wheel. the game itself might not have native triple screen support, but as you can see, it still looks alright on my setup. It's not flawless, but I personally find it better than DR2. All I did was choose the correct resolution for my triple screens, which is 7680x1440. 😊

thank you for the compliment on my driving! In terms of comparison, both WRC 23 and DR2 have their unique characteristics. I agree that DR2 can feel more challenging in some aspects, especially depending on the car and track combination. WRC 23 has its own quirks and realism that make it engaging. It really comes down to personal preference and what you're looking for in a rally sim. Both games offer a solid rally experience in their own right, but I do think WRC is the superior game! Karl is absolutely right. WRC 23 doesn't support triple screens. However, as you can see from my videos, the visuals seem much better compared to DR2.0. That being said, if I turn my head too far to either side, the image does get stretched🙄

Your videos are fantastic. Though i got the game yesterday through the preorder and preload process. Even ta max settings the graphics feels kinda washed-out. I am not talking about performance that is horrendus (at max settings i am getting 35fps, while at ultra low i am getting 70, but the game looks terrible). With the same rig, i am getting in Dirt Rally 2.0 ,140fps at high settings. The PC port seems terrible. I cannot comment on the actual physics of the game, as i will wait till a performance patch is rolled out to make the situation better. Until now, i kinda cry for my 45 euros spent. For reference i have an Ryzen5 with 1660super, 16gb ram + SSD.

Thank you so much! And thanks for sharing your experience. I've noticed varying graphics fidelity across different stages too. It's possible they've made certain compromises to address performance issues. I hope they roll out some optimizations soon to improve the overall experience for everyone 🙂🤞
