The dashboard looks lovely with the vintage wireless and rev-counter fitter. Another fine job.

It is great that the car is so original and complete! You didn’t have to buy that many replacement parts. Original parts are worth refurbishing every time over any replacement. Love the use of rust reformer/converter. The great Mike Fn in his channel makes great use of it with fantastic results. Awesome project, Jared!

Nice work - again Jared! I understand what you are trying to do. I have an old pickup truck I'm putting together and I'm not planning to paint. I want that old patina look. These videos are relaxing to watch.

I'm with you on this one, follow your passion and keep with your Survivor approach on this build. Too many people believe in the 100 % restorations. I like the originality!👍👍

I´m so greatful it rains in Germany...gives us a lot of days where we can tinker in warm dry garages... you even have a lock for the shifter! Be careful not to loose the little screw that holds the lock in place when you unbolt the assembly to clean up the shifter! Good work on the seats!

You are making nice progress on the 356. The rodent nests are always a pain. Had them in my '63 Cab and the '55 Speedster both of which were barn finds. Lucky for me, the '59A Coupe was purchased from a family that owned the car from new and it was stored for many years in a secure location up on blocks. Was great to get an old car that didn't suffer from rodent infestation. My '71 911T, another car purchased from the original owners but unfortunately, was a wild life sanctuary that was infested with squirrels and rats........ what a mess, but have it cleaned up now. Have been enjoying all of your efforts. Great work!

There's a section of soft fuel line behind the floorboards that spans between the fuel tank petcock and the tunnel fuel hard line. It should be checked for condition and most likely replaced.

Oh Jared, this 356 will come out so nicely. Big thumbs up for that period correct (I think) Blaupunkt radio by the way, looks really cool. Also the seats look pretty awesome. Is that vinyl or leather? That filth you found behind these panels in the footwells was pretty gross. Yikes, how did all that stuff get in there? Perhaps one day you will decide to do a full resto of the car (new roof, new fender and straightening out the body). The car would be absolutely worth it. Here in Germany a well kept original 356 will not be available under 50k Euros, I even saw one for 75k Euros. Don't know about the prices in the U.S. but I suppose they may range there, too. Well done again, buddy. Looking forward to see you ride in that one 👍👏
@Jerod_Helt4 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy. The seats are vinyl like the rest of the interior. I might do a full restoration some day, but I’m going to enjoy the car as is for now.

It is really to bad that nice new headliner has to come out to fix the roof ??
@Jerod_Helt4 жыл бұрын
I’m not painting the car I’m driving it as is. The existing roof would need to be cut off the car and a new one welded on if the car was going to be repainted. 👍

JNH: I think you dropped the ball on the decision. You could have EASILY decided to spend more time with a hammer and dolly and while not making it perfect, at least making it look completely repaired. This is half way..... A little more lazy than looking for a special result
@Jerod_Helt4 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to tell the extent of the damage to the roof in the videos but there’s no way the top could be repaired to the point of being painted. Not even close. At this point it’s about preserving as much original paint as possible since I’m not painting the car. The more I tried to straighten it out the more paint I was losing. I’m sure this car won’t be for everyone, but it will be one of a kind👍
