The baseball references are astounding! Very fitting seeing how Hogan pitched a no hitter in the little league world series just before he joined Metallica and tore ever muscle in his body slamming Andre, who died the day after while writing Hulkster in Heaven for that dying make a wish kid who didn't make it for Hogan's main event match at SummerSlam 92 at Wembley Stadium.

@@klodreck Hi five. Lex held his hand up for hi five but was "left hanging" meaning it was not reciprocated either because he didnt see or worse just ignored it. As a Hulk Hogan fan I can see why Macho Man hated Hulk Hogan in real life for not getting out of the way and never letting Macho Man have the spotlight. I feel that Hulk felt at the time that is the late 80's to the 1990's that if anyone could have over taken him in popularity it was Macho Man.

Isn't it interesting how no matter when Randy Savage became champion in both the WWF and WCW Hulk Hogan had to over shadow those victories in some way? Wrestlemania 4 he still managed to make it about him with the celebrations. Wrestlemania 8 his match was the main even and not the Flair vs Savage match for the WWF title. Then there was this which was basically just like the 1992 Royal Rumble bit where he got pulled over by Sid. He always comes across as always wanting to be the centre of attention when I look back.

I always wondered about this PPV "gimmick". Is there a "legal" ring, or does any ring count? For example, if you leave the ring, can you roll into any ring to avoid being counted out? Do the other rings count as "out of bounds" as far as pins and submissions, and do they only count in the starting ring or any ring?

I think the booing was clearly for Hogan not letting Savage have his moment again and not the finish. The fans were so tired of Hogan and his shtick by this point that when they tried the sympathetic baby face never got eliminated thing, the crowd really weren't buying it or cared for it at all. Hence the heel turn the following year.

Ok, the World War 3 battle royals started with all competitors inside the rings, I get that. Still I find the runtimes of those battle royals surprisingly short: 1995 - 29:40 1996 - 28:21 1997 - 29:48 1998 - 23:28 As a kid in Germany I was able to witness one of the battle royals (I think the whole event wasn't broadcast - dark times ... 😂) and liked it, even though it was messy, difficult to follow and not that unpredictable in terms of the outcome. Was the 1997 one, if I remember correctly. Intrigued to see if they still hold up today. 👍
