Reliving The War takes an in-depth look at the WWF vs WCW Monday Night War that took place during the 90s and early 2000s. WWF Raw is War and WCW Nitro aired at the same time every week, fans had to choose which channel to watch, and a TV ratings battle began between two titans of sports entertainment. The Monday Night Wars would develop into a battle for survival, only one company would still stand after the war ended.
This week on WCW Nitro "The Icon" Sting has a choice to make; J.J. Dillon wants Sting to remain in WCW, Kevin Nash and Lex Luger want the Stinger to join the nWo Wolfpac, and Hollywood Hogan wants Sting to forget about the past year and join the original nWo Black and White. Sting makes his choice live on Nitro and his decision is quite unexpected. Elsewhere on the show Chris Jericho visits the Capitol building to try and get his Cruiserweight championship back.
On WWF Raw is War Vince McMahon isnt happy about Dude Love's performance at WWF Over The Edge. The Undertaker, meanwhile, wants to find Mr. McMahon and get what's rightfully his; a shot at the WWF Championship. D-Generation X battle The Nation in a 6 man elimination tag match, and we see a few first round King of the Ring matches.

I completely forgot we are heading into KOTR 98, I remember that was a crazy week on both companies (wont spoil anything but you can easily look it up), watching it all unfold again after so many years its so great, and best part is I don't have to stay up past my bed time to watch it. And yeah Chris Jericho was really something else in WCW, I just don't understand how Bichoff couldn't see the talent he had in his hand and just let him go, the guy could make a story out of eating a sandwich and actually make you care about the damn sandwich, I'm so happy Vince saw his potential and gave him the chance he deserved.

I used to love watching Alex Wright. I remember him ONLY being on WCW and also remember that tragic switching of character to Berlyn. You know, He would be great for a video documentary as well someday. he even reacted to your videos before, i wonder how much insight he would be willing to give for some matches that looked like things did NOT go as planned or just his side of the while WCW experience. Thank you for these videos and rampages through nostalgia. They're both bittersweet and reminiscent of better times in the industry

Hey Wrestling Bios dude! As a fan, I wanted to show my gratitude for all your hard work. In 2014, my wrestling-fanatic uncle showed me an early 90's Fabulous Freebirds match. I loved their charisma mixed with their athleticism. I was so drawn, I asked him tons of questions, but he encouraged me to learn for myself. "I can't point you to a specific year or time. There's so much stuff that happened that you kinda have to start somewhere and build on it." So I did. I watched ppvs with him and he taught me about wrestlers, essential rules and moves. He also gave me his WWE Network login so I could watch things on my own. I subbed to tons of wrestling channels and listened to every podcast I could find. I enjoyed seeing the modern athleticism and got pretty caught up in storylines, but over time, specifically in 2017-2018, my enjoyment began to decline. The territories, classic wrestlers, and everything that happened decades before seemed so much more interesting. So I completely stopped watching modern wrestling. I can tell you, going from the 2010's-2020's to the mid-1970's really shocked me. I saw no entrances. Heard no music. No complex movesets. I couldn't get over how formal the announcers were, how the referees checked the wrestlers before every match, and how knowledgeable the commentators were. I felt like I was watching wrestling on Mars! But, as strange as it felt, I see now that I began to appreciate the changes wrestling would go through over time. As time went on, I learned more about the wrestlers I came to love, hate, and admire. Your channel helped with a lot of that. I grew accustomed to roasting like everyone else, but you showed me the great moments people dismiss or don't even notice. You showed me the potential in every wrestler, to make my own conclusions, even giving me clarity on what is difficult to understand. I currently follow your Reliving The War series, and I'm in June '96, when the war starts heating up. I've learned so much from you and I hope you'll always have success on KZbin, Patreon, and other platforms. Much love from Kentucky, USA!

9 year old me was at Nitro with my dad and brother for my bday on the 4th of June. Sting was my favorite wrestler. I think this show got me into watching every week. My dad watched wrestling the way u make these videos he’d turn back and forth.

This was one of my favorite undertaker promos growing up. And hearing the stories that led up to it

Another good week for Raw and Nitro. I have to give it to Nitro again. The main event of Raw is great too.

I remember watching this episode live and losing my mind when Sting joined Hogan only to reveal Wolfpack. Felt those same emotions watching it on RTW. Also have been waiting to see the Jericho visit around DC to find a loophole for weeks. Great episode l. Keep up the great work

It's unreasonably hilarious to me how Undertaker in regular clothes looks like if Peter Steele were a wrestler

I agree, the sound of that WCW ring is unmatched. It's one reason I keep going back and watching old WCW shows.

I was drinking some water just as the Alex Wright segment started. Nearly choked from laughing at that one, so thanks for that 😅

It’s unfortunate the “chairman” of wcw was injured legitimately with a torn acl from that spear with Billy Boy. Great video as always!
