WWF Raw and WCW Nitro go head to head once again in this week's episode of Reliving The War. The date is 9.23.1996, WCW Nitro is on TNT while WWF Raw is on the USA Network, both shows are live and both shows are stacked this week. Who will win this week's Monday Night War?
It's the night after In Your House: Mind Games and the WWF presented an excellent main event featuring Shawn Michaels vs Mankind. On this week's episode of Raw, the company crowns a new Intercontinental Champion when the IC Title Tournament finally comes to an end. Marc Mero vs Faarooq opens up the show while the final segment features Jim Ross reintroducing "Razor Ramon".
Over on Nitro, many WCW superstars have travelled to Japan. This gives the nWo a perfect oppurtunity to cause havoc and this is exactly what happens. The New World Order completely takeover WCW Nitro this week, and the main event features The Outsiders in tag team action.
00:00 - In Your House Mind Games Results
04:36 - Nitro's Unopposed Hour
07:36 - IC Title Tournament Finals
11:58 - Randy Savage vs Greg Valentine
13:42 - Owen & Bulldog vs Bodydonnas
17:20 - nWo takeover Nitro
20:52 - IYH 11 Hype / Jim Duggan in action
24:18 - HHH vs The Stalker / nWo Sting vs Bo LeDuc
27:47 - Outsiders vs High Voltage
30:18 - Razor Ramon comes back to WWF

Apprantly Vince had major plans for him he loved his work in WCW and thought he would be the face of the company and be WWE (Well WWF) Champion Mick Foley mentioned in his book (and I think Stone Cold Steve Austin has also mentioned) that he was originally planned to be a major star. Scott Hall - "Go with it, the soundtrack from your favourite adult movie" This is where the "NWO Theme is music from a porno" rumour started with internet marks in the late 90s. I remember my friends older brother (Massive internet mark nerd) back then telling us it was from a porno, but he could never find exactly which one. Of course now the rumour has been put to rest. Its just a theme of multiple Jimmy Hendrix riffs from a few of his songs.

Hall and Nash proved their influence when Vince McMahon parodied them. It proved they were a draw.

Don t look down on yourself It is not just a KZbin show It is extremely accurate well constructed and with a fair commentary on both shows I love this series You put to shame official work from wwe They should hire you for their network

I wish more people talked about JR's promo here. I think it's one of his best, because of how well he blurred kayfabe and reality.

Shame Mega Man Faarooq and Sub Zero Glacier were on separate shows. Could have had the ultimate video game character match.

And if Mega Man Ron Simmons wins, he gets Glacier's powers. They could have given him entire wrestler movesets as he conquers his enemies and unlocks new armor colors.

Eric really is adept at playing a babyface, he's great at it honestly it feels believable. Sometimes I wish he & vince kept their meek characters
