I don't mind these PPVs. It gives me an insight into what the wrestlers who weren't signed or let go by the WWF after ECW and WCW got brought out were doing at the time.
@mrblonde6095 ай бұрын
This. In german free tv there was a big hole when WCW closed its doors, because WWF only aired on Premiere (Sky). I was a kid and had no money for ppv tv. So i basically couldn't watch wrestling anymore. It's interesting to see this strange phase after WCW and before many wrestlers went to WWF/WWE. I didn't even know that Eddie left WWF at some point. This is all strangely amusing and bizarre.

I attended a WWA show in Dublin, Ireland back in November 2002. It was a welcome arrival as no major promotions came here between 1995-2004. Disco Inferno and Jermey Borash were on commentary that could be heard throughout the arena. Disco wrestled and then came back to commentary after the intermission. I'm going from memory but I believe the WWA owner Andrew McManus took over on commentary for a brief period. He was approachable, wearing a suit and sunglasses while spending the night around the entrance way area. One of the biggest disappointments was that Scott Steiner was advertised but didn't appear. He was heavily rumoured to have signed with WWE which turned out to be true. The card was: Shark Boy Vs Nate Webb Konnan Vs Norman Smiley Nathan Jones/Frankie Kazarian Vs Disco Inferno/Johnny Swinger Teo Vs Puppet (Midajah was the guest referee) Mike Sanders Vs Joe E Legend Sabu Vs Perry Saturn Vs Simon Diamond Sting/Lex Luger Vs Buff Bagwell/Malice Overall it was OK and it was great to see names that you wouldn't see live in Ireland much like Sabu, Perry Saturn, Sting and Lex Luger. Sadly though the main event didn't last 5 minutes. I basically remember them making their entrances and not long after seeing the torture rack and scorpion deathlock on the opponents and that was it. Shout out to Konnan who signed autographs for fans on his way to the back. He was nice and the first wrestler I ever met.

Not gonna lie, that Eddie promo and overall segment with Jerry Lynn was kinda good. Even though it was brief, he really sounded passionate and intense, and if that whole bit was on TV and there was a proper build to it, I'm sure a Guerrero/Lynn match could have been good. Though the heel/face dynamic seemed uncertain. Like they were talking about Guerrero being unhappy and he was very intense and fighting with the crowd, but it seems hard to boo a guy trying to overcome his personal demons. And Lynn poking fun at him makes him seem the heel, but he's; also making an appeal to the fans too. So that part was a bit unclear.

So, I actually met "Puppet" The Psycho. There was supposed to be a wrestling show at a local strip club, and me and my friends went to attend. We got in free because we were all military members. Apparently, Puppet was the only performer who was able to show up. Puppet apologized, and the strippers came into the ring and "wrestled" him to entertain us. I have to admit, it actually was hilarious. He reacted by screaming into the mic that those women weren't allowed into his ring, and he held the mic as they did bodyslams on him and smacked him with random things. Screaming things like "I'M SORRY I PAID IN DISNEY BUCKS!"
