Vince ruins any strong heel faction when they got something good going. He meddled with Undertaker's ministry. He meddled with HHH's McMahon- Helmsley era. He meddled in the 2Man Power Trip. Hollywood Rock/Hogan feud. The Corporation and so on...

I’ve always enjoyed this show, and I truly believe this PPV was the peak of the mountain we call the Attitude Era. It marked the end of the original Austin vs McMahon feud, the end of the Austin vs Undertaker feud, and was officially the beginning of Triple H being a World Title contender. While the Attitude Era continued on for a few more years, this really stands out as the end of the first half of it to me.

@@dukes1993724Keep him in check? From what? Austin and Rock had the same boring promos and brawls every night. Didn't matter if it was on TV or ppv. They needed HHH to keep them relevant and hot. Their schticks were getting stale before they got to work extensively with HHH that summer and fall respectively. Tell me, if HHH isn't pushed in 99 and Austin doesn't get hurt hypothetically, who in the hell would you have Austin or Rock feuding with to keep fans interested in wanting to see Rock or Austin's rivalry going into and through 2000? Remember, Kurt hasn't debuted yet. Jericho isn't there yet, and he certainly wasn't going to get main event billing three weeks into the company. Fans stopped caring about Ministry Taker. Austin beat Vince yet again and he's banned. Austin and Rock beat Mankind and Dude Love so much he isn't taken seriously.

We have finally reached the point where the WWF European Championship becomes what, I feel, it was best at being: WWF's "TV Title" for the undercard. I remember watching WWF from around this point on & really loving the European Title scene, because it truly felt like it could change hands at any point, which in turn made it feel like European Title matches were truly unpredictable. In fact, Reliving the War will see 15 European Title changes up through the end at Mania X-7, and of those only seven of those changes will happen at PPVs, with the one at X-7 actually being the last time the title would ever change hands at a PPV.

I was not watching WWF when this event took place, but I bought the VHS after the fact and really enjoyed watching it. That clothesline from hell counter by Bradshaw on Jeff was one of the first OMG moments from that era that stuck in my memory for a while after seeing it. It was pretty sweet.

The end of the Austin vs McMahon feud which means the Attitude Era is halfway over. The next few months are kind of hard to get through, but once 2000 arrives we get the best part of the Attitude Era (I think that is due to a certain writer jumping ship to WCW in the fall of '99). Where the stories are pretty solid and the match quality improves. During the second half of the Attitude Era we get the debuts of Jericho, Kurt Angle, and the Radicalz. We'll also get Triple H was the top heel, becoming the guy you love to hate.

Austin marks forget DX was just as over in 98 as Austin. In 97, Austin cannot be disputed. 98-99, different story. The crowd chants, merch, even other talent were referencing DX stuff in their promos, and Val Venus character was created because of it. Fans loved both acts equally, which is why the reacted so strongly when HHH turned at WM15.

13:05 This would be an interesting five man faction as you have Holly and X-Pac who were Tag Champs under their 123 Kid and Sparkplugg days, and X-Pac was and is going to be again a Tag Champion with Kane while Kane, Undertaker and Big Show all go on to be the first ever WWF/E Triangle Tag Team Champions (My definition of Triangle Tag Team Champions is a tag team that wins Tag Belts in which both halves have previously held a Tag Belt with a common partner, in which Big Show and Kane completed that triangle in 2006 as both previously held Tag Belts with Undertaker), but I also picture them being a seven man faction with Billy Gunn and Albert, even though they never held WWF/E Tag Belts with any of them, but they did form short live tag teams with some of these five as Billy teamed with Big Show for a bit in 2001 and spent his final WWE year before his 2004 release teaming with Holly as The Smackdown Frontline (the team name wasn't official, but they were the main two to confront Booker T during his anti-Smackdown heel turn after being traded from Raw in 2004, sort of a recycle from Booker T's invasion from WCW in 2001) while Albert goes on to team with X-Pac in X-Factor (as a two man team after they acted too good for Justin Credible as he defects to The Alliance the next night) and then Big Show and X-Pac become a tag team in WWF/E's version of nWo and then Big Show and Albert become a team as Paul Heyman's Clients, but also Billy teaming with X-Pac while X-Pac was leading X-Factor in a tag match against The Hardyz as a one night only DX reunion then a bit of X-Factor gets mixed with Show-Gunns as Big Show and Billy teamed with Albert at Invasion against Kanyon, Stasiak and Demott, and on the August 16th 2001 episode of Smackdown, almost all of these guys were Kurt Angle's back-up during his match against Tazz

This is an interesting PPV for me, as the boom for wrestling in my regional Australian town, had quietened down by this point and the local video store had decided to stop stocking the latest wrestling videos. I wanted to see fully loaded and asked the store owner if he'd get it in and he then decided to stock after all, because apparently the previous fully loaded had hired/sold well and now that he saw at least one person that was keen to see it, he thought hed stock it. Then they kept getting the PPV's in for a few years after that. So I kinda kept the wrestling vibe going in small town Australia.

I loved D'Lo Brown man. But the "incident" is the reason he will probably never be a Hall of Famer. Even though him and Droz (RIP) remained cool after that, Droz forgave him and he didn't even blame D'Lo. But the "fans" can't allow themselves to forgive him.
