I love that these new Fontaine character story quests are so focused about the characters themselves (Lyney, Neuvilette and Wriothesley) so we know much more about them as story quests should be, not disguised to be NPC’s story quests.

@@nevembra9850 In Nilou's quest we learn about her seeing a dancer as a kid and that motivated her to join the theater troupes as well. Then we learn how wonderful she is from the Grand Bazaar because her performances draw in so much business for them, even the single mother finding a job with the theater troupe after her husband died, thanks to Nilou. Then we see her debating an Akademiya member when the theater and the livelihood of everyone in the Bazaar are threatened. What you essentially want is a sad Pixar backstory with snippets of murder and torture for every character so you'd feel something significant with the character, but that's too repetitive and uninteresting if every character has a sad backstory. However, it's fine if you don't like a character who dances and spreads joy to her community but don't expect every character to share your angst.

@@ft.jackjimmy7282 I think you misunderstood me a little. I love Nilou, she's a very kind and gentle person. I just which it would have centered around her more rather then we helping her helping an npc. Of course not everyone is gonna have a depressive story but it would have been nice if we got to hear how she and her parents interacted rather then a npc and their dad (as nice as it was). Maybe her parents loved the idea of her being a dancer and supported her or something.

Only Genshin could include prison life, berets, dark humor, fear injections, slavery, threats, violence, human trafficking and murder in a story quest that ends with a freaking engagement. Also, his ‘oops’ when he dropped the gem. 🤣🤣🤣 Also also, WTF IS UP WITH ALL THE HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN FONTAINE? First Lynette and then all the children…? Fontaine is a dark place. …I love it here.

After you mentioned wanting to know what Wrio's crime was in your Neuvillette SQ playthrough, I was WAITING for this video to drop because I wanted to see your reaction! I was thinking they'd go the whole 'petty theft' orphan route but DAMN was I shocked when Wrio dropped the bomb at the end there of what crime he really went away for was. It makes sense for the length of his sentence. He went away as a "teenager" and according to his Profile story his age had "nearly doubled" by the time he was set to be released. He actually became the warden on the day his sentence was to end :):)

Small correction, the point where his age had "nearly doubled" wasn't when his sentence ended, it was when he was given the title of Duke

@@zavodila9279 He assumed the duties of the warden on the same day his sentence ended, and the only indication of timeframe there is that "many workdays" passed before he accepted the title of Duke. However, he has been serving as "the Duke" for two years, apparently. So, I think it's likely he got that title fairly quickly after taking over the Fortress.

what i gathered from reading wriothesley's story is that he chose his name after he was caught after the murder after a doctor asked for his name, the doctor had a weird name that he didn't particularly like but he said his name was wriothesley so that became his new name, after that he was asked what his birthday was and he said "today" (it might’ve been his actual birthday but i think it implies his new self was born)

Also his backstory explains a lot about his view on the convicted criminals, he better than anyone knows that when pushed to a certain point most people would commit a crime, so he sees everyone in the prison has “people” and not just “criminals” he doesn’t let a person’s crime cloud his judgment because he knows good people break the laws in desperate situations, a less extreme example would be a poor family stealing food to feed their kids, yes stealing is a crime, but no decent parent wants to see their children starve. (Edit: i think the same for people who just need food for themselves as well, but using kids as an example evokes a lot more sympathy in general) Of course if he discovers that someone committed a heinous crime for selfish and cruel reasons then he would give that person the suitable punishment, case in case in point: Dougier.

My favorite thing about the cutscene is that at first, Wriothesley was taking his time, walking slowly and was quite nonchalant about literally being shot at. But the second Dougier turned the gun on Traveler, Wrio sprung into action. To me it shows how much he actually values and cares about us :]

I'm being honest, I pulled for him because I liked his Design, his Kit and his Playstyle. Idk it just suited me. At that Time I haven't started Act IV of the Fontaine Archon Quest yet, nor Wriothesley's Story Quest. And after I played both, I never thaught I'd like a Genshin Character this much!! He's now my Main and one of my favorite Characters in all of Genshin and I'm so glad I pulled for him. I hope we'll see more badass Moments in Genshin like Wriothesley in the Cutscene, we need more of that. Characters that make sure to let the Villians now that they can do something if they ever feel like it. The Line "But if the Duke wants somebody dead, he needs no justification" gave me chills, together with the whole cutscene when I played his Quest

honestly, you did the best reaction jon. i had watched your reaction to archon quest and neuv story quest for few times already. lol some other streamers keep sexualizing the character too much, didnt focus on dialouges and seems completely lost, and also many keep reading the chats and mentioning donators through out the streaming that they seems dont interested in the story. actually, i have been waiting to see your reaction video for this since the first day risely was released.

So far the story quests we got for Fontaine cast are a perfect score. I've been a bit "meh" about most SQs for a while now, Sumeru characters are good, but in the end, their quests' plot was... Dunno. Something too "fantastical"? In Fontaine, most of the plot (prophecy aside) picks something humanly relatable... In the darkest sense: murder of a man out of jealousy, political conspiration that led to tragic outcome and a long trauma, putting down a whole damn cult (and underlying personal justice). It's not so much about being "dark", but really, more focused on the human vices. And it definitely adds an interesting layer of storytelling! Sumeru's plot introduced it, Fontaine's polishing it.

I spent, like, two months prefarming for him, so he's been my strongest character since day one of his banner. He's the first character I've built that's ever hit more than 80k damage, and I love everything about him. X3

2 things this Quest that gave me realization 1. Perhaps it would be best for Fontaine to drown for it's Sins 2. A Black gem that causes Fear when it drips liquid focus on the words Black & Fear who's the Fontaine character that relates to the words who other than Arlecchino her hands a charcoal like the gem & as an assassin they strike Fear what if the reason her hands are black was because she seep her hands into a pool of the black gem's liquid & we all know she hates Furina having doubts if she's even the Hydro Archon & how easily she struck fear into Furina's Heart in the start of 4.1 if this is true & Arlecchino has & knows of the black gem & what it's capable of 4.2 with Furina's act Quest will be finding out that Arlecchino has use the gem's fear powers to turn the Fontaine citizens against Furina and in order to get close to the Hydro Gnosis
