Omar Rodriquez Lopez once said in an interview that John Frusciante got a big shelf of fucking amazing recordings of solo work that he’s never gonna bring out , I wouldn’t mind locking myself up in his home studios for a month , just to listen to all those recordings , this men is a living legend at 53 yo , and the best musician ever , fascinating guy , Rick Rubin’s Broken Records interview’s with Frusciante are giving an inside in his unique mind .

I was fortunate enough to be there in LA for the only 2 ataxia shows ever .. unbelievable, best shows I've ever been to in my life

I was at the first one. It ruled. Even John walking off early, pissed because his synth wasn’t working right was kinda rad!

@@livery9 Right? At the 2nd show, there were no technical difficulties during Montreal & the band played an additional 4 songs (mostly from their 2nd album AW2, like "the empty's response" & Union) they didn't get to on the 1st night due to the walk off

The Ataxia Records were pure gold. 1st Album a bit more round but 2nd is also impressive and got some good mindfucked tracks like the soldier🙂

Just jam it out and it's a song. And then not reahearse to keep it unique live. And it worked out. Amazing.

I could never remember music, I could maybe practice and keep it for a week, but some time later, it's gone

Do you record your stuff and/or make notes on chord changes and arrangements? I find that helps tremendously. Sometimes I will film my hands on the fretboard or film the person who is showing me a riff.
