The "incorrect" example of dangling modifiers is: "As a teacher, it is important to stay patient." Isn't that sentence perfectly correct if it describes a teacher in general? If I'm not a teacher, I'm saying that it's important for teachers to stay patient. Without additional context, it just seems like a poor example. The first example shows that the correct object is missing without additional context.

If it describes teachers in general, then you could have “As a teacher, it is …. to stay patient for anyone “ The modifier is then not dangling but modifying the subject “anyone who is a teacher”. …. My guess
