Jenna McGeoghegan recommends The Irish Pagan School:
"The classes are deeply engaging and so full of authentic trustworthy resources for further study. The teachers are all knowledgeable in their fields and the school promotes native Irish voices. The scholarship of the materials is second to none. This can be a true academic journey, or a fully spiritual experience, or both depending on how you approach it. The foundation classes are exceptional. The instructors do not hand you a pre packaged religious plan as so many do. They provide background and encouragement for personal study and spiritual growth. True mentorship."

It's actually pretty easy to argue that Ireland was more justified in rebelling against the British than the Americans. Ireland was actually fighting for their own liberation against a colonizing force that was stealing land and resources, America were the land stealing colonizers who turned against Britain for their own economic benefit (which included stealing more indigenous land and enslaving more kidnapped Africans)

One difference between Ireland and the U.S. though fighting England is that Ireland was actually justified as it was colonized. Turtle Island was colonized as well, but the white americans fighting the English are just as much colonizers as the English.

this, Ireland is more than enough justified to hate England even moreso than the Americans...I say this as an American who knows history.

Thanks for this, Jon. Scrubs like this "military historian" reflecting poorly on my culture make me feel shame over being an American. Thank you for putting the record to rights.

Thank you Jon, for this history lesson. I hope that this video helps to open some people's minds about what they view online. I appreciate all you do to share authentic Irish information, lore, and history to those of us who take the time to listen. I am an American, and I am absolutely thankful that you won your freedom from England, for the most part (Northern Ireland). And as part Choctaw, I thank the Irish who helped my ancestors on the Trail of Tears. Go raibh maith agat!!

And someone got the idea to name a drink after those men... Same with something to do with bombs in a car.. (don't want to name it, it's just not cool). The Brits withheld resources

I listened to this podcast and thought to myself that Buckley doesn’t even get our own American history. We might have gained our independence from Britain but we also became the oppressors of indigenous peoples across the American continent. That is history book fact. I hope no one is influenced by that man’s tweets!

Thank you for sharing this vital, super important and relevant lesson on Irish history, at its different stages and putting it in the context of the modern world we're in now. I hope that guy from Twitter/X who posted that garbage stuff, and his followers, are prompted to be open to changing their views and educate themselves more. Stay blessed and be well 🙏🏽.

This makes me mad in this time I don't see why they just don't give the 6 counties back to Ireland.

As a descendant of African slaves in America, I know my people would have been better off without the Revolutionary war. The whole country would because we then would have missed the Civil war and the fallout which continues to this day. Imagine the national culture if we had left peacefully like Canada. Being so close, Ireland would never have that option. Rebellion was the only option

Aiye, Jon; I know it can be tough to face challenging times, but I hope you can still see the rainbow beyond grey skies; when facing hatred, I hope you can still see love; it takes strength, but remember the Dark Ages need not hold you forever; there is a reason why the Dagda came to u, to remind u of the rainbow still there that can heal and reconnect all of us despite dark skies; know I believe in you, and I hope you can believe in yourself as well, to still see the good in others, and in yourself; slan go foill(bye for now) 🔥🌧🌈🌊🌬⛵

Interesting that an American fell hook, line & sinker for British propaganda. The lack of curiosity, indeed.

As an American (with ties to Galway thanks Grandma) I am ashamed of that dude's stupidity...he claims to be rah rah America, then he should be happy the way the Irish kicked the English to the curb too. I'll always be proud to be that. Is this dude even Catholic? I'll bet not. As an Irish American Catholic, I think I understand Ireland well and am glad to see the sentiments are similar from you actual Irish folks back over there. And learning my spiritual roots from yins is always a good day.

As someone born and raised in the U.S. and still living here, I have noticed an uptick in anti-Irishness recently. I genuinely wonder if it's because racists who formerly hid behind "proud Irishness" are realizing that *actually Irish* people support Palestine and oppose oppression everywhere. At least subconsciously, racist folks have copped on to the fact that Irish support for Native people's rights to self-determination and land back = supporting Indigenous folks and formerly enslaved folks and their descendants, not settler-colonizers. So, honestly, I think it's completely calculated that those formerly "proud Irish" racists are turning against the Irish now and spouting British imperial talking points (and honestly good riddance, don't need folks like that appropriating Irishness anyway). Just my two cents, hope it made sense, and thank you so much for calling this shit out, John. Go raibh mile maith agat agus slan go foill.
