you could built and interesting ore transport system with ejecting the ores you want out an arm and into a collector on a truck next to it. Like a grain harvester does. You wouldn't need a connector at all. an entertaining way to do it.

Do the rules mandate that you can only have thrust in the forward direction? Or can it be any direction as long as it's just one? Because then you could have a craft that only has an 'up' thruster with a gyro and fly it like a helicopter.
