I have a feeling this is going to be a long one. I generally don't detail other cars outside of my own, but this is my Dad's Plasma Blue Pearl 2014 Subaru WRX. I'll be taking you through the entire detailing process from start to finish.

Always wear gloves. Working around brake dust without protection is not a good idea. Lost my best friend to​ Mesothelioma. He worked on brakes. I treat all of the car care products as a hazardous material. Most of these come and go with the marketing budget. Just be careful with heavy metals and new materials. It takes years for symptoms to appear. Good video. Need to show safety.

Oh, YES... Been waiting for this Series😀 Been looking for 2 new good buckets & can't find anything that I like!.... Also, the wheel brushes, definitely gonna pickup a set for my Dad, as he uses nothing, newspaper, or a old shirt for his tires & rims. That's if cleans them. Just got him some Eagle Etching cleaner for a start & foam canon. Naturally the day went to use foam car, it rained here in FL 😃, that's how it is, huh......Wash your car & 2 seconds later it thunder storming. Can't wait for next episode. Have great day. I find that Adam’s wheel cleaner can be cut 1:1 with water and still do a great job. It’s already a pretty good value, but doubling the life of a bottle is awesome

I really like diablo wheel cleaner it really does a great job ! I mix it a bit stronger . One of the few things I like from chemical guys .

Use purple power vehicle and boat wash when you run out of the CG Citrus wash. Purple power works wash works best at stripping and for decon

The Adam's iron wheel cleaner was good for me. But, they trashed my Stoptech calipers. So much that i had to use a polisher to get my calipers back to looking good.

I like the color and trim level of your Dad's WRX, nice looking car. I suspect we're about the same age (your Dad and I) so I can appreciate the car and equipment package/trim. On another note, when cleaning stainless exhaust tips that have picked up road grime/gunk that is stubborn to clean off, I use an aerosol can of spray oven cleaner. It works great but do not get it on anything else. I finish up with 0000 fine grade steel wool to clean off the crud. The steel wool leaves a nice sheen on the stainless and leaves it clean. I've used this method for over 30 years and have never experienced a problem, even on my latest 991 C2S. Just shiny stainless exhaust tips without scrubbing, and damaging the finish. Good Luck!

See if you can get your hands on wolfs de-ironizer for wheel washing, it doesn’t smell as bad as other ferrous cleaners, and is safe enough to regularly use

It will make your rotors rust like crazy.. so, the rust needs to work its way off which usually doesnt take long. Mine have never really squeaked though.

One thing I don't get is why, you would not use gloves? Your using your black 4 finger mitt, spreading around wheel cleaner. Is adams wheel cleaner that safe?? I've had all of the AMMO products, but I've never tried Autogym. I'd always understood them to be gas station grade products.

Obsessed Garage autoglym has a good reputation over here never hit a brick wall with any of there products apart from the leather care (uk) also bilt and hamber. I really respect your physical product opinion after purchasing many of the products - wheel cleaning is a lot less painful now! Thanks

Those PA inspection stickers on the windshield can get removed once your dad has reregistered in FL. FL has no inspections, correct?

I uses Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper, then blow them dry with EGO Leaf Blower, and finally pull the car back and forward a few times in the driveway.

I don’t find the need to use an iron remover or dedicated wheel cleaner week in, week out. For my weekly clean I find my regular soap does the job fine and doesn’t effect the longevity of the protection on my wheels that iron removers can effect.

Chris_Audittr2108 Iron deposits get into the pores of your paint. Car paint is like a face. Iron would clog your pores and with time you get a blackhead. It is why you see cars with pink or rust over the paint.

Adriansitos623 - I’ve been using iron removers for years as part of my Paint decontamination. What I was saying is that I’m not sure there is the need to use one every time I clean my wheels. Least aggressive approach first works here too. I’ll use a stronger wheel cleaner/iron remover every couple of months if needed and regular soap/shampoo weekly.

I use Bilt Hamber Korrosol but not sure if that’s available outside the U.K. Most of the iron removers do the job well enough. Can’t go wrong with the offerings from Gyeon or Car Pro.

Matt, have you ever tried using Adam's Wheel Cleaner to do the decontamination instead of Iron X? I've read comparisons saying its just as good. Adam demonstrates it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmHPk4SwoLeMgbs The thing I like about this is that it's one less chemical to store. Also, if I'm using it in larger quantities I can buy it in larger sizes for less cost.
