SWFL Eagles_ M15 - Male Eagle Beyond Compare 11.14.23

Before sunrise we saw M15 rise to the attic from the nest he protected through the night from the GHO. After F23's arrival, M15 gathered new grasses and sticks for the nest while F23 'supervised'. There was mating. Both M15 and F23 secured their area vocalizing warnings to an unknown eagle perched nearby. F23 flew there and flushed the perched eagle from the pole then perched on it herself. Meanwhile M15 flew across the road, grabbed an armored catfish, stopped at the nest with it - F23 did not come to claim - so M15 flew with it to the pond oak to eat. When finished, M15 grabbed grasses from the office lawn and took them to the nest before taking his 'sentry' perch in the attic. Since 2015 when M15 arrived, he has grown to be a great protector & provider to his mates, offspring and territory. We can only hope M15 teaches F23 as well as Harriet taught M15 confidence, strength and intuitiveness.

Such a relief to see them both looking so alert and well despite the Owl attack! Yes, I agree, M15 is a Magnificent Eagle who knows through experience what it means to protect, defend and procreate! I was also proud of F23 who knew to fly out and encourage the intruder to move on! I’m sure M was proud of her too! They certainly are becoming a formidable team! Oh that was M15 in the nest since around 3:00 am. I thought it was F23.😂 Wow, M15 is taking up both roles, laying in the nest and protecting it. M15 is so amazing, not enough awesome words to describe him! 🙌👏🦅💕🦅

Remember when the aged nest fell apart and had to be built anew? Harriet watched as M15 proudly brought in a big long straight stick, his first stick, and placed it very carefully on the 'Y' of the trunk. And Harriet watched, as did M15, as the stick slid off the "Y" and feel to the ground below. Harriet and M15 flew from the nest and returned a full 2.5 days later and M15 brought in an irregular stick with twiggy lil branches grown out a wee bit and he placed it carefully on the "Y" and this time it didn't fall , it stayed in place. AND, as Harriet watched, M15 flew off for another and another of irregular branches and the rest is history. Sweet memories of a wonderful father to be and his first love.❤❤❤❤❤❤

When I had checked the nest early this morning I have to say that I was shocked to see an Eagle there so early and sleeping at the time too. It was at 6:45am. I didn’t hesitate to realize that it was dad Magnificent15 and I also went back on the life cam to check to see just how long he was there and he sure was there for many hours which made me so proud of him for doing that too. This Eagle is gonna do all that he can do to make sure he keeps HIS nest in memory of his first love Harriett.🥰❤️🙏🦅🦅. I feel that by what Magnificent15 knows and has learned from Harriett, I feel that LF23 (Lady F23) is learning the best things that a young Eagle needs to know to survive and to take care of the nest and then when there are eggs, he too will show her how to incubate and also raise their young.👍🏻🦅🦅❤️. He is definitely one very force Eagle that isn’t to be reckoned with either cause he will knock a Owl off His nest anytime it is needed. Also, LF23 can do her major wing slap to also sho those Owls that she too isn’t one to mess with too. Yes this season will be a lot of Owl strikes but I feel that the Owls really don’t have a chance too much with the abilities and determination that M&LF23 have in themselves too. God bless and hugs to you and keep the faith and I have surly learned that M15 and LF23 definitely won’t let any kind of bird whatsoever take their nest. Not even those pita’s Ols too. Love, Sue M. Yes indeed they do almost everything by instinct and Beautiful M15 is super smart , last year BIG BEAR ,CA, had record snow fall ,everything was buried in snow , and the BIG BEAR AREA eagles had 2 eggs ,but the female stopped laying g on her eggs. Very suddenly , for no obvious reason, eggs didn't hatch, but like a few weeks later the record snow fall CAME to the VALLEY , the eggs didn't hatch for a reason, because BIG BEAR LAKE was frozen for a very long time , amd the chick's would have , for sure starved , no wild animal was around for a long time and if they were , they couldn't be seen by AIR ,even the people were stranded for weeks unable to get out. It was a mess , SO YES EAGLES SEEM to know a lot about the environment and weather conditions that we humans can't see , or know about in the near future because to them and especially their CHICK'S it's a matter of life amd and death , they take raising their young very. Seriously. And good for THEM. I SAY 👏 👏 👏
