Good review of Gameweek 1 guys. Really looking forward to Tottenham's trip to Villa Park that's going to be a really exciting, open end to end kind of match IMO. Am expecting goals aplenty in that one tbh 🙌

As always superb review of the weekend guys. Pretty much agree with everything you said. But as always...I have loads to say!! Sorry! Chelsea v Villa Wow Villa had a Plan A B & C. Very impressed with how they coped with Ramirez. D'Angelo...look Arsenal Fans this is what Eidevall wasted and your defence failed to realise she is left footed and is a good keeper. Villa defence looked 100% more assured than last season. Very impressive start. Reiten needs to be on left as Baltimore is just not at this level yet. Maritz read her game far too easily. Central midfield Chelsea really missed Leupolz/Ingle balance with Cuthbert. Lawrence uncomfortable on the left for me...they really have no cover for Charles since Carter left. Grant looked good and with more WSL experience would have caused Lawrence far more issues. Possible weak point for Chelsea at the back along with Bronze. Sorry, Périsset has to play for me. Villas Plan B looked dangerous. Leon and Robinson caused a lot of problems....final cross and decision making only issue. Plan C....Salmon should have come on with Leon and Robinson as Chelsea struggled when she came on and this allowed Daly to be more involved. Overral Villa looked far better and showed what they are capable with Tactics in place and a manager who clearly belongs in WSL. Could win a cup this year. Man Utd v West Ham. West Ham gave Man utd and easy ride and made them look better than they are. Man utd cannot be judged on this performance. West Ham...very poor. Brighton v Everton. Everton fell apart after second goal. They could not hold on to possession which is there 1 strong point usually. Brighton looked more like they did under Phillips. Attack looks good, however the defence whilst it was not really put under pressure looked weak apart from Poppy at left back. They started playing the kamikaze passing out from the back in the second half which caused them issues yet again, Better sides will punish them. They do not have the players at the back to do this. Baggaley made the saves she needed to as usual. Dare I say the finishing front line for Brighton looked good but Parris looked lost going central when Ageymang came on. Arsenal v Man City. An inform Miedema would have scored at least a hattrick, however as I said in your season preview of Manchester City City have a problem with the high press. Chelsea showed how to do this in Conti Cup last season and Arsenal actually did the same in the first 20 mins of their first game against City last season yet weirdly stopping doing it mid half and did not do it in the 2nd game. They squeezed the space in the midfield by pushing the defence up and man marking Park whilst City's defence passed the ball back and forth. This congested the midfield leaving no space for City. It resulted in Miedema dropping back to try to take the ball from Greenwood but this just confused City as Miedema was doing this off her own back to try to resolve the issue and was clearly not planned for. Towards the end of the first half Bunny Shaw also started dropping deep which was a complete failure. Hemp who is normally so confident always has an issue against Wienroither, yet seemed also reluctant to go up against Fox and drifted in to a central position thus creating even more congestion. Pressing city meant Greenwood was left with no out ball so kept passing backwards and sideways. I have to say it but Arsenal tactically dominated City for large parts of the game and Taylor looked lost as usual. It was only Arsenals complete lack of discipline in the 2nd half that allowed City to start creating chances and Jess Park ( my prediction for player of the season ) scored a 2nd Goal of the season ( her first against Paris FC was the 1st). Sarina was watching too but Toone will start! Now in your Season Preview I said Taylor was not clever tactically and that in the final home game of last season he failed to shut the door at 1 nil to just get the 3 pts and failed to react to the introduction of Little and Blackstenius and they lost the game and title as a result. Well I am sure you noticed that at 2-1 when they were lucky to be ahead what did he do to see out the game? Nothing! When he saw Mead and Russo getting ready to come on he got Kelly and Fowler ready to come on! How is that tactically shutting the door? How will City win anything if they do not know how to see out a game. Maybe if he had not wasted Mace and Morgan he would have quality to bring on yet what defencive players did he have on the starting bench? Kennedy.....wow how bad was her passing in this game when she came on? Arsenal equalised and city dropped 2 points needlessly. Yes it was a foul, but this ref always makes huge mistakes, but what the keeper was doing retracting her arms as the ball got to her is beyond me. She clearly was either scared of them hitting the post or she thought it was going wide. Outstretched arms would have meant ball goes out for a corner. Terrible goalkeeping. What is Keating doing on the bench? Arsenal - Blackstenius starting is a joke. A blindfolded Russo is miles better than her ( yes I was shocked with Russo's tame effort too but it was a shock...Blackstenius miss was not) . Note Blackstenius came to Arsenal from Hacken as a player with potential. She lacked any ability in her left foot, was a hit and miss finisher with her right and had no idea of how to stay onside. After years at Arsenal absoultely nothing has changed. She is constantly offside. When she goes through one on one I have no confidence she will score. Her chance on her left foot in the 1st half went tamely wide ( same as against England ) And with Maanum's goal the reason it came to Maanum was Blackstenius tried to use her left foot to get the ball coming in from the cross and completely made a mess of it and the ball goes backwards into Maanum's path. Yet Blackstenius starts and was re-signed and Meidama was disposed of! Whilst I was impressed by some of Arsenals play they did this against Chelsea early last season and yet looked a mess for the majority of last season. If they beat Hacken Jonas is the luckiest manager alive! City - Laura Blindkilde Brown what is she doing at City? Sitting on the bench! Why did they buy her? Fowler replaced Miedema!!!!!! What impact did Fowler have on the game...I do not even remember her touching the ball. Laura in the midfield would have bolstered it! Liverpool v Leicester. Leicester as I said look impressive. Point away from home against good side...job done! Mace...City are fools letting her go! Spurs v Palace - As a Palace fan I have to say 2nd half was concerning. However, let people get excited about Spurs, but they looked average to me and sorry Naz is not a great finisher. Russo and Blackstenius rightly criticised for wasteful finish when through on goal, yet look at Naz's goal she was through on goal, keeper totally exposed and yet Naz shot straight at her and the ball broke loose and she finished and celebrated as though it was a world class finish! It was not. Thomas wastefull because chances were on her left foot. Better sides will not collapse as Palace did and Palace should have equalised in first half but Green messed up her header. Palace - Atkinson needs to start and they need to go back to tactics from FA Cup game against Chelsea and just hold out for as long as possible otherwise it could be really messy. As a Palace fan I dream, but it is going to be tough.

manchester united is ot going to be close with leicester in the table, i think we will surprise a few this season, we got a fresh hungry younger squad . yes we have lost big names however we are in the process of starting a new era, we got one of the youngest squads in the league with experience while added experience. when we came 2nd in the league we wasnt expected to do that and we took chelsea to the last day. expecting a big season from us

Yeh it's all a matter of opinion at this point. We both predicted United to finish 4th in our predictions video. I can't them finishing any higher than that but I guess we'll see. I just think Leicester will be very good this season!

@@TheWomensFootballChat i am a united fan so my view is bias lol if we get 4th and a cup run then it could be a good season for us but we cant be like 10 pts of the title etc, i like the manager for Leicester i think they will do well, should be a good season
