As a part of the extreme unicycling community myself I have to say good job on the research. Didn´t seem like you picket the first names that pupped up rather than finding names that really influenced the sport. I just want to shout out some more people who haven´t been mentioned in the video: - The Pöham Brothers, who took filming videos to another level (most of their videos are on a channel called "impact unicycles") - krisz kovacs for argueably one of the sickest street parts there is (2013 Fall to Fly), - Márk Fabian who is basically the GOAT of Trials unicycling by now, winning the inofficial european championship for 10 consecutive years now (videos worth watching are "Viva El Trial" and "Viva el Trial 2" - Ivar Christenson for developing and perfecting a new Style called Flatstyle - Scott Julian for impressing everybody with his 540 Secretside when his une was basically bigger than him - Pierre Sturny for making both Flatland and Trials finals for 2 consecutive Worlds in a row and being such a consistent rider

I was a founding member of the Norco Factory Trials Team and was involved in getting Kris Holm on the team in around 1999. From there we did trials shows together, he entered several bike trials events I organized on his unicycle and we even developed a whole new bouldering inspired format for bike and uni trials competition that was used successfully in the early 2000s. I say all this, because I want to commend JimmyTheGiant for his truly excellent history here. My recollection of events and key points of this time period, more or less exactly matches the way he describes it and I appreciate very much how Jimmy goes to great lengths to credit so many of the key contributors. This also gives great confidence that Jimmy's histories of other sports and subcultures are accurate, so they are very much worth watching. Bravo Sir! I will only add that following Kris Holm down a really technical trail on Vancouver's North Shore remains about the most technically impressive thing I've ever seen, and that Dan Heaton's first film was incredibly well made by the mountain bike video standards of the day.

Physical traction is better than most things. I ride all year. Snow and ice are better traveled on unicycles than bikes. Mentally unicycles will remain niche. Most people are too lazy to put in the effort to learn.

I was mountain biking on some semi-aggressive trails in southeast Michigan one day with a friend thinking we were keeping up a pretty good pace until we heard from behind us "on your left" prompting us to move over and let the more experienced mountain biker by. To our surprise, we're passed by as man on a unicycle. He's hitting jumps and everything. It felt like I was dreaming!

Great video! I think it's difficult to overstate just how skilled these guys are. I love learning new skills, and have tried things ranging from parkour and skating to slacklining and juggling, but unicycling is BY FAR the hardest thing I ever tried, it took me so long just to be able to balance for half a minute or so. So the fact that these guys just throw themselves off massive jumps, down steep hills and grind rails and stuff is absolutely mind-blowing. Huge respect to all of them.

Great video! Grew up in Seward AK as best friend of George Pecks son. George was and still is a fixture of our small town, always jumping off and climbing up mountains on his unicycle. The real mastery is shown when he gets rid of the seat! Master of his craft

He dos do that. The parkour videos are just significantly harder to make because their more centralized and specific and/or require the actual people. These videos are significantly easier to make because their generalized and just a cover as a sports history.

George Peck is actually my neighbor here in AK. Hes in his late 70's now and he still rides up and down our street on his unicycle. My kids have started riding them because of him. His son rides a tire with cranks (no seat) around town as well.

Hi Jimmy, have been enjoying the variety you've added to your content. Its obvious you you are genuinely interested in these niche communities and it shows in the level of research. I am not a fan though of you giving them a random score without saying what you are judging that community on. You obviously know that many in these communities are very passionate about their sport and for you to pass arbitrary judgement doesn't seem to flow with the love you seem to give them in the rest of the video. As someone who grew up skateboarding my entire life. I just appreciate seeing any group of people getting together to get hyped over any one thing. Like ya in the 90s early 2000s there was a lot of "judgement" but once I grew up I realized there is so much more to it and it actually is such a beneficial thing to humanity to bring people together and just see yourself making little goals, failing, getting up trying again, expressing yourself, etc. It's just awesome 👍🏼
