the difference in income between the various scales of taxes is like 300 gold on a massive city. At the cost of some 30% instability. So any city not near your capital should just be left on low and a minimum garrison, unless it is near the front line. I played as Spain, and my holy land was generating around -100 gold per turn because of penalties of corruption due to distance. And there was a large garrison compounding the cost. There are very good reasons to avoid bothering with Crusades in that game: mostly the region isn't profitable unless you are Italian. Italian factions are silly OP in that game, well: till you get to Pike and Shot. Then they fall off a little.

@exantiuse4974 жыл бұрын
Fixing Americn debt would be unbelievably easy. America has the biggest economy in the world, meaning there is a fuck of a lot of potential for debt repayment. If America 1. raised the total tax-to-GDP ratio by 17% (to the level of Germany) 2. lowered military spending to $400bn (still the highest in the world and 50% higher than China's) and 3. reformed the Medicare+Medicaid to be as efficient as the NHS (in terms of cost/recipient) it would cut the federal expenditure by $1tr ($300bn from military and $700bn from health care) and increase tax income by $3,6tr, turning the $1tr+ deficit into $3tr+ surplus, erasing the federal debt in six years with enough extra to fix the infrastructure issues, without cutting services or social security. Economic growth might suffer temporarily, depending on how the tax increases were targeted, but that's a small price to pay to get rid of the time bomb that is the federal debt, and the taxes could be lowered once the debt has been dealt with, and fixing the crumbling infrastructure would boost growth, making it an investment for the future, and paying off the debt would eliminate the interest payments and make future budgets easier to balance It would be well within the realm of possibility to balance out US economy and get rid of the debt, the math checks out (very generously if I may add), the only reasons why this isn't done are political
