If anyone is ever in a scary situation, please know that complying with orders will most likely lead to your death. You will fare better by screaming "run" and running in two separate directions. Perpetrator can't catch you both and might just leave knowing one of you will alert someone and they will get caught. Parents need to make sure their kids have a plan if they are out and approached or followed by a stranger. Hope this helps someone.

@Drakilicious The guy on the bridge appears to be much younger with a larger build, possibly taller, and doesn’t have white hair or a white moustache like Ronald does in his interview immediately after the girls went missing. Plenty of people have similar looking hats and jackets and it’s just not enough to use to point fingers at him for that alone. Unfortunately, it’s hard to assess Ronald’s gait based on the interviews that I seen as he’s standing still or climbing up a hill. The voice on the recording also doesn’t sound like Ronald. I’m not convinced that it’s him

To sit there and say that they should have did this or that sounds an awful lot like victim-blaming, we are talkin about 2 young teenagers in a very rare situation. I've been looking into this story for the past week the man is wearing layers of clothes he obviously has at least one weapon on him There was no way that just running would have fixed everything. These two girls were best friends Their thought process Was more than likely always putting the well-being of one another first. And there's a lot about this case that isn't open to the public one of them could have very well tried to run away And in the process the other one could have screamed for her and so she turned around to help her best friend. This isn't a black-and-white situation there are many layers to this and unfortunately two young girls lives were lost in a brutal murder by some coward that felt so entitled to them and their life's. I think some empathy is much-needed on this topic. It's absolutely easy to get on KZbin watch these videos and pass judgment And say what could have should have been done. Truth be told no one knows what they would do in a situation like this. I hope we focus more on the man who solely responsible for the senseless crimes that took place that day.

He was arrested for being involved in the crime but authorities haven’t released any details on why they think it’s him, why they think there’s another person involved, or even how the girls were murdered. Already its changed my perspective on this. In the actual footage taken by Libby, the suspect appears to be much further away when he's being recorded. The new app shows the actual distance He was from then when Libby filmed him was much closer than He appears in the original. He definitely has something concealed under his jacket on his right stomach area, left side as we look. It's showing through the jacket so whatever that is big and heavy enough to cause it to protrude through and show as indentations on the outset side of it. Just below that on the same side is something in his waist area that looks to me to be similar colour to, and the right positioning for, a tool belt possibly?

@@humcohailey Could be. Just recently at the 4 year anniversary just a week or so back a sheriff confirmed that The audio is much longer than released, 90 seconds to 2 mins long total. However, according to him and these are his words, there is nothing He And His department consider significant enough in the full audio that would justify it being released. He added it isn't what we would think it is, and doesn't believe it would lead to someone recognising his voice. I don't know how he can say that. Let us decide that by releasing it. They have released 3 words, "Guys" & "Down Hill" (He doesnt say down the hill, just down hill) Three words! I would struggle to identify anyone I know from 3, low quality somewhat muffled words. Now if you gave me audio of a person I knew speaking in a sentence or two, then I'd be much more confident I would recognise that person. All of us have distinct and unique qualities to our voice and thing such as accent, tone, pace, inflection and the words we choose to use all help identify us with these unique characteristics. You won't get any that from two or three words of low quality audio, especially when two words get spliced together with a third. Apparently the sheriff and state police hate this being referred to as a cold case as they are still actively working it. Well they have all they are going to get as far as their own evidence goes. Just release more of the audio for God sake Or Libbys brave effort to record him so she may help catch her own killer will be in vein.

It's sad how many cases there are where people are aware enough to take a photo or video or confront the killer but think they're just being paranoid, the person is seemingly harmless in their eyes -- for a split second. And then that happens. Seeing how close they actually were to this guy in the augmented reality video is so creepy; they could have turned and outrun him and gotten away, and grown old sitting around telling that creepy story of how they could have been victims if they hadn't hightailed it out of there. Very sad. A cautionary tale. I hope they get the guy.

The fact that so many people are in the comments saying that they should have ran is absurd These were children, 13 and 14 years old Their thought process wasn't that of an adults. They were in a secluded area On an Old Bridge With missing boards and man that was working his way to them. They had not a clue what he was going to do but he did. We need to focus more on all the information we are getting and hope that someone comes forward with information on the one person responsible for the crimes. I hope Abby and Libby rest easy And I hope wholeheartedly that their parents Will someday Get closure and justice.

His awkward gait is caused by him/anyone trying to manipulate and walk on the deteriorating bridge. He’s looking down to keep himself on the wrecked bridge path which has many missing tracks. It’s a long fall down. LEO’s have more info and the girl’s video - but remain holding it tight to their vests. I understand and respect their reasons for that - but at this point, its been years now and would think they could release more in case it can help further this case. Now that I see the bridge more closely, his weird gait could have just been him trying not to step in the wrong place since that bridge looked pretty worn and the slats are weirdly spaced. Hence why he is looking down at his feet as well.. I'm just glad they have a suspected killer in custody.

Now now. I know you're as upset and pissed off like all of us are about the time it's taken so far. But Law Enforcement around the world have solved hundreds of thousands of crimes - even crimes that are 80 plus years old. So it could take 50+ years to solve this. Pre DNA testing no one even imagined it could and would be a thing and now today DNA testing is why crimes decades old are solved. So maybe in 20+ years a new tech will come out and something in evidence in this case will be able to be used by it to solve this once and for all.

I think he is or was local to that area.After he committed the murders he may have left,but they always end up coming back.Some of the circumstances remind me of a case where a girl was home from college in a small town.She went jogging and was murdered.The guy was a neighbor.He left immediately after,then came back.It took years to get him,but they did get him.

Phone companies need to start implementing a feature on phones for emergency of maybe your last moments. Maybe it makes the phone record at its maxes resolution and record audio and make it 200% louder. And then it sends the video to all the connected social media and fbi and cops the second it happens. I think a feature like this could help even more with cases like these or save lives

The problem is that the police keep sitting on valuable information instead of releasing bits and pieces of what they can share. Obviously they can’t release every single detail of this case to the public but to sit on something like the suspect’s car description for over a year before finally releasing it is what’s prolonging justice for these girls and their family.

Everyone seems to believe he had a weapon to force the girls "Down the Hill" and he certainly has something under his jacket. However, I don't think he brandished that weapon till the actual scene of the murder. So, how does He get two girls to comply willingly by going down hill? This is just a theory. The two audio releases are "Guys" (Said much louder compared to "Down the hill" and its clear these two audio pieces were spliced together. So, let's say Abby and Lib cross the bridge and in following them he announces "Guys..." then follows with showing a badge (Genuine or fake) continuing "Guys, Your not supposed to be on this bridge. Its unsafe and off limits.." Libby or Abby then apologise and say they will go bk over the bridge and leave. Bridge guy then tells them, "You can't go that way, the bridge is unstable and dangerous." Ab or Lib then ask how how they can leave if they can't cross the bridge? BG replied, "You'll have to go this way, down the hill." The recording is around 90 seconds to two minutes long according to the sheriff who said of Libbys recording... "It is much longer than has been released." Asked by a reporter why it has not been released he said: "You know, people seem to think that these is some ground breaking thing contained within it, something that is hugely significant and break this case. Yes, I have listened to the entire recording and the truth is, there really isn't anything significant on it. " That to me suggests BG wasn't pointing a gun at them and barking threats at the girls to go down hill, but he tells them, as the recoding seems to indicate, calmly and quietly. He isn't meeting with any resistance at this point, if he was he'd likely sound more agitated and urgency in how he said down hill. Maybe in a demanding tone rather than requesting one. Anyhow, that's how I think he was able to control both and get them to go down hill. It is, like all others, a simple theory.

Yeah. This one has one detail off. Mainly, in one shot of the man, the sleeve of a coat can be seen meaning that if Libby was the one taking the photo, Abby would be closer to him and Abby would have been the one in the dark sleeved coat OR there was someone else on the bridge. The dark sleeve is what you see. Huh. I guess it makes me wonder if they really got the right clothes or if Abby took one of the shots. There is a sleeve as if the man is just about to catch up to someone in one of the images.

The more I see this guy, the less I can get my head round him being under 45... just his walk to me is that of a much older guy than the updated picture suggests. I've been married 30 yrs, & comparing how much my hubs walk has changed over the years, his general stance, gait, even the hand in jacket pocket. BG is similar in all those ways. The clothes could be layered to make him look different, the hat could be a disguise, but there's no mistaking how we change physically between 20yrs old and 50yrs old. I'm no expert detective at all, but for the life of me I just dont see a young man, I see a man from mine and my hubs own age group, a man somewhere between 45-55.

This case will never be solved. The police have never told the public any details about the murders, how the bodies looked when they were found, how he killed them, was there CSA, how did he subdue both of them at once. He's old, 45-60 ish. He knows that bridge well. I'm not sure he says "down the hill" at all.

That looks AND sounds exactly like him, not to mention the fact that he's a very well-known abuser in Brazil, IN.
