I converted over my Wu-Tank 5" Long Range drone to a 6" long range drone and these are my initial first flights, thoughts, etc..
What I did was replace the Emax Eco 2004 3000kV motors I used for 3" 4s and installed Emax Eco 2004 2000kV motors, and then slapped on some Gemfan 6026 (6" 2.6" Pitch Bi Blade) props and test flew it on a 4s 4000mAh Li-Ion and a 6s 1300mAh LiPo to see the difference.
First flight was very short lasted less than a minute using the Li-Ion battery, the quad had very little power even with it being practically naked. However this might still be a very viable battery for taking this out on mid-long range flights.
Second flight was with a 1300mAh 6s Ovonic battery and I went for 5 minutes but had to stop as the 28 degree F (-2.2C) was killing my hands. That battery went from 4.1v down to 3.9v in 5 minutes which is awesome.
Third flight I was using a 1300mAh 6s CNHL battery that has been quite abused and is rather old. I got around 7 minutes of flight, with a DJI Action2 camera and the CNHL battery weighs about 30g more than the Ovonic battery.
Stay tuned for the flight time test!!
