Lighter Restoration. The lighter was made in 1914-1918.
In this video I restore an antique WW1 trench lighter. I removed the rust and made new parts. I hope you liked my restoration.

This is one restoration I couldn’t really get behind. I know the surface was severely pitted, but your restoration destroyed the engraved artwork. That is what made it a personal and unique piece. This is one that should have been cleaned and documented, nothing more. Trench art is often more important than the objects that hold it.

@@Dx20xygen7 it' called "Tommy" Style lighter. you can buy replicas of these for like £13 I listed trough this yokel vids and most of it is atrificially aged shit. In other words he deliberately destroy stuff so he can "restore" it later. While it's entertaining it is also as fake as hookers smile.

Використання деталей карбюратора - прикольно . Я б не шліфував , а із насічками і раковинами так і заполірував би . Досить достойна робота , особливо враховуючи асортимент доступних інструментів та матеріалів .

Коли робив прибирання в гаражі, то всі латунні запчастини залишив) Одна знадобилась) Можна було й виточити, але якщо є підходяща деталь, то можна використати.

Amazing. I used to have that same lighter. It is incredible that the man who sold it to me only wanted £5 for it. He must have been serious grave robber though 🤔 because he had like about another 20 of them behind the counter in his boutique at Victoria train station 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is not a restoration, you destroyed the original piece and created your own! Why did you get rid of the original engravings and small details. That was the history of this lighter, that was the most valuable part. You have the skills and tools, but there should be a respect towards a historic piece. This respect and ability to see and preserve valuable details make the difference between professionals and amateurs.

Please don't. These are fake. "Only restore for my friends" my arse. If you think you have genuine ww2 German bayonet take it to your local museum to have it evaluated and restored by their curators. They are professional who deal with antiques dially not some hacks on YT using metallic solutions to rapid age metal objects for their fake restoration videos.

@@ReXtorer малюнок був примітивний, але Унікальний. Часто знаходите запальнички з візерунками? Так часто, що можна перебирати, які зберегти, а які ні? Звісно, ви новий власник предмета і вирішуєте, що з ним робити, але ви просто вбили унікальну частинку попереднього власника, вояка Великої війни
