Finally getting a chance to write. Had a pinhole leak in a pipe back on 17 October and been dealing with that and looking at having to repipe the house. Been getting estimates and deciding who to go with. Anyway, great site and how huge it is. Amazing there were still beds in the bunker. Loved that you had pictures of other sites, so we had an idea of what it looked like back when it was in operation. Thanks for taking us along!

Another excellent video HH. The place is still in great condition. At minute 26 that room had the air compressor for the high-pressure tanks. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing underground complex with us. The amount of work involved, to blast that tunnel system into the hillside alone would have been incredible, and then to construct the concrete and brick walls, the rooms and the stairways, and, add all the machinery inside, is just mindblowing. And, like you said, probably all for nothing. Never firing a shot in anger. Seeing those original bunk beds, deep down inside, and then, seeing the wooden torpedo supports still there, was just amazing. Really helps to set the scene of what that location would have been like, when it was operational. We really appreciate the effort you guys put into bringing us such fascinating locations! Cheers to you both! Stay safe, stay well, stay strong!

yes , just imagine , that used to be a solid rock mountain and then now a massive complex. Just so AMAZING to see actually. We loved it and we appreciate you my friend :)
@donaldmesserschmidt6441Ай бұрын
That is quite a maze you two navigated underground. It must have taken quite some time to construct this complex inside the mountain. The facilities were quite a blending of old and newer items. The bunk beds looked original! One of those rooms was huge, I guess this might have been a torpedo storage area because of the torpedo rack devices... Interesting that they spent the time and money to convert this place to a more modern fighting position. That blue pipe hanging down from the ceiling in the room reminded me of a periscope in a battleship turret for aiming the guns manually. I wonder what the allies did with all the surplus German torpedoes at the end of the war? Another great lesson, thanks for taking us along!
@WW2HistoryHunterАй бұрын

Hello HH, Hello EE. Fantastic video, I kept getting lost going around there! Those electrical panels looked quite modern to me with the plastic trunking and contactor types. If it was a generator room, the air tanks could have been for the pressurised air to start the engine up. Amazing to see the old wooden cradles for the torpedoes.

Am amazed but happy to see all of this is still there. Location like this have to be a testament to the engineering and construction of these highly fortified locations. So much equipment still being there if puzzling with the mixture of old and new. Evidently when the complex was captured and then served its purpose after the war, the equipment that was left was considered obsolete. Great exploration with so many features.

Very cool! One thing I noticed at 8:49 was that the LEDs were lit on that power panel. Evidently, there is still power coming into the building (3 phase most likely). Some of the lights look like they can still work, and I saw some inspection tags on a couple of things. Someone is looking after this place to some degree - who or why I don't know. Looks like it was used during the Cold War for something - hey, you have an underground facility already built, so why not? You and EE must have been worn out after this explore. Thanks for doing what you do!
