17:05 SmackDown Games have some story and structure. No Mercy has storylines but no rankings and stuff. I'd definitely say SmackDown 1 and 2 had much funner Season Modes especially if you play them with Friends.

I’m in my 30’s, so I was a teenager when Here Comes The Pain came out. It was an excellent game, I kept all my wrestling games and all my consoles, and I still play HCTP to this day. I don’t think it’s the best WWE game on PS2 though. When you look at Shut Your Mouth and the earlier Smackdown VS Raw PS2 games, it feels like there’s a few things missing in HCTP. The lack of any ring announcer always bugged me, the Legends having no entrances to speak of, the lack of title matches in exhibition mode, and Hulk Hogan being missing, and Matt Hardy being there while Jeff Hardy wasn’t, were all things I really noticed. With the exception of legends and exhibition title matches, all of that stuff was in Shut Your Mouth, and most of those things would come back again for Smackdown VS Raw. Perhaps it’s nitpicking a bit, and HCTP is a great game, but if we’re weighing up the ‘best’ game of the era on PS2 then I think it does come down to the nitty-gritty. In my own opinion the best PS2 era WWE game is Smackdown VS Raw 2006, because it has all that good stuff, and it has voice acting in the storyline driven season mode.

Been playing HCTP with the ultimate Edition mod and loving it. Recording it on my other Channel Wrestling Old Dan playing as William Regal but messed up by failing to record and saving. Will be starting again with a modified moveset(more brutal suplexes)

Just Bring it was trash....... Here Comes The Pain, Shut your mouth, SVR and SVR 2006 are the best wrestling games on the ps2. N64 AKI wrestling games are still better though there the best wrestling games ever made

@the16bitprick36 Yeah man I still play No Mercy, WM 2000 and Wcw Nwo Revenge to this day. It just blows my mind that wwe never stuck with Aki during the ps2 era and later.... they were literally the best wrestling engine. Imagine a newer wwe game with the aki engine it would be even better then Here Comes The Pain. Such a missed opportunity

Covered those games about a year ago on here, absolute clasics!! It's one of those things, im glad we got them and they didn'y overstay their welcome, i'd have hated to see aki get to the point we are at with current 2K games and them being an absolute mess.
