It was just a little frustrating that there was a war already going on in the background during the briefing. At times was very difficult to hear anything and I love the stories of people involved in the landings.

Our Zeus disconnected 5 times in then mission. Twice whilst the briefing was going on! The plan was, MGs on, MGs off, brief... as with any plan it’s doesn’t survive contact with the UK’s shite internet 🙃

D-Day, TFA tried to do it right, we had more respawns in one evenings mission than we’ve had in the last six months. Carentan next! Need an intro to the 101st then follow discordapp.com/invite/MSYJxbM. 7 troops of 37 made it up the beach, most of those used at least one respawn. The confusion and deafness is nothing to what it would have been like for real. Terrible times.

been wondering recently, why during the normandy beach landings, the allies didnt just saturate the landing zones with smoke screens?....imagine the impact on axis not being able to see the oncoming crafts, and how in the smoke, the allies may have been able to move a little easier towards the sea walls and such...sure, the beaches were well targeted...but axis would have been firing blindly..just wondering

Cos most of the troops would have had preplanned fire arcs. Smoke or no they saturating area with bullets. Troops coming off an assault craft, need to see where to go (CAP even went way right even with perfect vision) and don’t need to be breathing white phosphorous or ‘non lethal’ smoke whilst running up soft sand.

Yep definitely a Bismarck class BB. I was wondering the same thing why they were breifing next to it. Course it could be explained away as being one of the inflatable decoys the Allies used to confuse the Germans!

It was an American battle cruiser’ according to the mod pack. However I did discuss the typically Germanic turret shape and the protuberances the sides... again we are the bound to the contents of the mod packs we use 😳😁

I’m curious. In arma3 you have weapons choices but in wwII scenarios we always see you with the Enfield or the Garand. Can’t you get a scoped rifle and carry a Thompson back up?

It’s called ‘cook off’ as the remaining ammunition stores are ignited by the over temperature of the fire. New troops often think they are being shot at when the ordinance is in fact the remaining shells from a vehicle ‘brewing up’ near them.

was MUCH worst in the game, but we allowed people to respawn on the beach because we knew it would be a slaughter. Real troops much better than us.

Erk, we die lots. That’s coz the enemy are all crack shots, even with the accuracy turned right down! Literally slot u from 200 metres after running 50 metres. Try that in rl and see how many times the target goes down 🤪

I love the WWII campaign vids! But the ear ringing is so goddamned annoying! Turn it off or sacrifice a tiny bit of accuracy and wear wear plugs. It’s driving me nuts and makes these almost unwatchable!
