3 sons killed in 1 week in New Orleans

Violent crime in New Orleans has unfortunately left many families with a familiar feeling - a feeling of devastation and loss. While some arrests have been made in homicide cases, giving families some closure, others are left in the dark.
That’s the case for the family of Bryan, Bradley and Brandon Veal. They are three brothers who were murdered within seven days of each other.
From the time of their murders in February 2021 until May 10, 2022, the Metropolitan Crime Commission recorded nearly 300 additional homicides. With that many cases to solve, their father wonders if he’ll ever get justice in his son’s brutal murders.
More than one year after losing their boys in one week, the family says they are still in the dark both literally and figuratively. The Veal family agreed to speak with WWL-TV with anonymity, shielding their names and faces from television cameras.
“To know that whoever the perpetrators are, are still walking around doing whatever and we have no idea who they could be or who they are,” says a family member. “So, for us to just come out and talk openly about it, it’s frightening.”
While you haven’t seen their faces, they’ve made sure their thoughts and voices are heard and seen. One voice we are hearing for the first time is that of the boy's father.
“My whole life has changed,” he says. “Anybody that’s experiencing death like that and then it being unsolved. There’s a super unfairness.”
The family members say they were out of town in Baton Rouge having dinner. When they parted ways, the boy’s father received a chilling phone call.

As a black family man in this country, I’ve said this before and I will continue saying it, the same energy we put into protesting when a white cop kills a black man should also be in situations like this. We need to protest door to door in our communities, some of these families are harboring criminals and they will never speak out as long as is not their child who’s dead. Lost my Mom 2 yrs ago. It still often brings me to tears. My sister lost three sons also. When she heard her youngest died she emitted a sound so emotionally charged, unearthly & horrific it could only have been the anguish of her soul being torn apart. She survived but six years later she lost her oldest, now 20 yrs after that her middle son passed suddenly. Even at my advanced age my Mom is the first person close to me that I've ever lost. I brought my oldest son back home to bury him and on that rainy day, I was told by the grave diggers that they had buried 25 young men the day before. I knew Brandon while he was attending St. Aug for 9th grade. Positive and funny dude. We used to skip football practice to go eat at the corner store and always get in trouble w/ the coaches. Lol. He eventually got very disciplined and earned a scholarship through hard work! I saw this man set a goal and accomplish it as a mature teenager. This is sad. This was a person we needed in society. He was a well intentioned person in my dealings w/ him and I never fathomed him going out like this. Prayers to his family and child!

I hurt for these parents and everyone else loosing family to these senseless murders. I'm from New Orleans and the crime is out of control. My brother was murdered by the police unarmed at a traffic stop a couple years back, he had just became a proud father to a son. I'm noticing people are stealing from each other more, homeless growing in numbers I've never seen before, people are angry and in a mad hurry all the time. Twice this month my child and I almost got hit by speeding cars bypassing my child's stopped bus with the flashing bus stop arm out! Just bc they can't wait a couple seconds for us to finish crossing. Noone cares about each other anymore, people are so divided. All these celebrities, and politicians want to virtue signal for Ukraine etc. But could care less about the problems plagueing our own community, country.

I lost my eldest son almost 2 years ago and it broke me in a way I can never put back together. The loss and pain I live with every day is overwhelming. I cannot even imagine what the parents who lost 3 of their sons must be going thru or the weight they must now carry with them for the rest of their lives. There is no escaping that loss and pain and I pray for the parents who lost their 3 sons. I also know what it feels like not being able to get justice for your child. As a parent it is the very last thing you can do for your child. Being able to get justice for your child won't bring them back but it says that "their" life mattered and the people responsible is held accountable. I will never get justice for my son but I hope and pray that these parents are able to get justice for their sons.

Damn and I thought I went through hell. I lost my youngest sister in January of 2017. She died tragically in a car accident outside of Atlanta, Georgia. As a family we traveled to Greenville, SC to lay my Baby Sister to rest. My two brother's & I were pall bearers along with my Father & others. After the service, my brother said that that was the heaviest casket he's ever had to bear. As older brothers, it killed us. Not even 90 days later, my brother was murdered in March 2017. Then on the anniversary of his passing, my other brother was also murdered. All three of us that carried our baby sister's casket & I'm the last one left. This video goes to show that no matter what hell we think we've encountered, there's someone else out here who's hell is worse. WTH!!! This is so very tragic and sad. My heart goes out to the family. God, please this family needs you asap. I pray for healing, justice, and closure. They need a great lawyer asap.
