Brad is much like "Trader Jack" McCloskey of the Pistons "Bad Boys" World Championship Teams. He has an uncanny ability to spot and acquire players with great potential! Chris was not only a great player, but his deep knowledge of the game and the NFL are paying big dividends. To all Detroit Lions fans, from a decades-long Vikings fan in Northwest Minnesota…I dare say I want your Motor City Kitties to win it all, almost as badly as I would want it for The Purple. Your city may have the most prosperous, dramatic, turbulent, and fascinating history of anywhere in the nation…a history that any intellectually curious person should familiarize themselves with. Without a doubt, right or wrong, Detroit has been the country’s collective punching bag for half a century…over issues far more important than a game. I believe Detroit, as a city, is a sleeping giant. A city ready to resurrect itself in the future, after generations of disastrous hard luck. One can totally understand how the current Detroit Lions club resonates so deeply with its fans…and every single Lions fan, especially the long-suffering ones, deserve every minute of glory that has been enjoyed this season. God bless you, Detroit. I’m a Minnesota guy for life, but you have my admiration and respect. I can’t believe how excited I am for you all to taste this success.

A view from the recliner. In 1957 the Lions and 49ers finished with 12 and 4 records, so they had a playoff game in San Francisco. Tobin Rote lead the Lions from about 21 points down to win. The Lions and Goff are capable of doing the same thing. The 57 team went on to stomp the Cleveland Browns even though Detroit was the underdog. Go Lions!!!

My head keeps telling me how much I love this team now but how worried I'll have to be when we inevitably hit a rough patch... then I remember 0-10-1 and 3-13, and that MCDC only just now hit .500 in Detroit (26-26-1). We've already seen it, and it's just as good a group as when the wins are there. Need to extend Jared for another 3 or 4 years, and extend DC and BH for another 10. This is just an unreal team, an unreal moment and an unreal look at a 'new normal' for this organization and this city. Holy cow.
