Table. A car is a money loser over the long run.
@TheDudeAbides-247
@TheDudeAbides-247 5 жыл бұрын
$10,000 for their mid-range table would be better spent invested in a nice index fund. 20 years from now that investment will triple in value. Unfortunately, the table will depreciate, and will eventually be sold for $200 at an estate sale by your kids when you pass on.
@bnorberg988
@bnorberg988 5 жыл бұрын
@@TheDudeAbides-247 Certainly true. Of course the table may be a a better investment than 99% of the cars out there. Just take a look at Antiques Roadshow. This table is arguably a work of art, and has very low production numbers. In 20 years you may have stayed evenish or gained. I doubt you can say that about a 2019 Hyundai Sonata. And when you factor in insurance maintenance and gas,....well cars are money losers. Of course the real question is; Which will bring you better memories? It's a personal lifestyle choice. Game playing with your friends or driving a car. I'll take my friends, the table, and a bicycle.

It's gorgeous but I just can't justify 5,000 dollars for a table...and that's without chairs, I don't make lawyer/doctor money. I bought a nice 36x60 table with 4 chairs and a bench from Ashely furniture with free shipping for $550.00 then built a topper with lumber and stain from Lowe's, felt from Jo Ann's and cupholders from Amazon....total about $800.00 its a very nice setup for the blue collar gamer.

@@robertbell874 you just get a nice sheet of plywood get really good stuff so it's flat and smooth have Lowe's cut it to the dimension of your desired pit size plus eight inches in width and length. Sand it smooth, order felt and padding from Jo Ann fabrics put it over this and glue and staple from the back this is really a two person job. Then cut 1by4 pine boards and build a frame around the top and bottom of the plywood on top this is your hand rail on bottom it keeps it from sliding on your kitchen table (buy a cheap tablecloth so the kitchen table doesn't get scratched)...then get those poker table cup holders from Amazon and a holesaw bit and drill and the right size holes.

@frostmagemarii
@frostmagemarii 5 жыл бұрын
@Mason Johnson If you go into the actual item section, you have to choose your wood type and Red Oak (the least expensive) is $5000 USD, with figured Myrtle being $15000 USD. And you were right the first time that a person can make their own table; it may not always be feasible depending on space available, etc.. but if you already have your own garage, then sure. It'll just take you time after you get the materials... and at the end of the day, you'll probably never reach the $5000 starter price tag of this table.

I never quite understood the sketch for most gaming tables, but now I get it. It is for board games. Now you might say, isn't that obvious? I am coming from a ttrpg point of view and didn't even consider board games. The main draw, being able to let the pieces sit is completely irrelevant to me. I need drawers and stuff, as well as Monitors. :D At least I finally understood, why any one would want to lower the play area. Ty.

This is a piece of fine furniture made from solid hardwood(and lots of it), has a custom mechanical lift, some pretty hard to find features as well as a lot of design. Oh, It's also made in the US. Try to find a quality solid walnut dining table for under $3,000, you will get what you pay for. And to those saying they would DIY one, give it a shot! It can be done and it's a very rewarding endeavor but it's also very expensive, time consuming and labor intensive. Bottom line is this, some people think a fancy sport car with all the bells and whistles is a waste of money. Some people see the value in the high performance and are willing to pay for it. This isn't a table made for everyone and you should be OK with that. They aren't ripping anyone off, it's fairly priced, and they offer tables that meet all your gaming needs while sporting a much lower price tag.

And it still isn't as good at it's intended job as much cheaper options. Who cares about a magnetic, spill resistant dining table top? Anyone with the money to waste on this has a big enough house to have a dedicated gaming room and doesn't need to worry about it serving double duty as the dining table.

If that table existed back in the Vth century, there won't be have been "knights of the round table".

If you had this level of quality and features in a hexagonal table with legs at each of the 6 corners I’d be in. My room is square and a rectangular 6 person table is a no go.
