From my farm to your home. 🏡
My name is Kaleb Wyse and here, you will find delicious recipes, videos from my farm, garden, and fun home projects. My knowledge has been earned from years of home cooks and farmers in my family. wyseguide.com
A farm is much more than a house to live in; it’s a lifestyle. My passion for gardening and landscaping came from outdoor work with my mom in our expansive farm yard, my love for baking came from innumerable short walks to my grandma’s house to make cookies, and as a farmer, my dad taught me that we are the stewards of our land.
So whether you live in a city center or have decided rural life is for you, I hope to inspire you with the projects and recipes I use in daily life. We can’t all live on a farm, but we all need farms in our lives. From the dirt in my vegetable garden to the flour in my kitchen, I’ll show you everything I love to do.

You need the Garden Answer augers, they have cut down on the length of the blade to make it weigh less and and it is taller, so you don't need to lean over. I love starting my day with Laura and finishing it with you. You both are hard working, with similar aesthetic style.

There is also no flange on it to deflect the dirt, which makes the auger much lighter. 👍

Your never to old theore you move around the better your health I'm ,76 and just moved from south Florida to north Florida and I can't wait to learn the growing season here I plant a vegetable garden every year plus lots of figs trees. Which I grow in pots and flowers keeps me busy and I mow my yard with a push mower. Please do not let age keep you from doing things you'll be surprised what you can do if you just try. .God bless

Kaleb its one of my favorite video. You show and explain so well how to do it. Your garden is so beautiful ❤️ It's so inspiring for me! I used a plan also to work. It's wonderful to work with. I still keep my plans and kept them through the years. Now, I need to transform my flowers garden to invite more little creatures to come in (birds and bees). Thank you so much! You spread love all around with this beauty.❣️From Canada

Great progress video. It would be helpful for you to either put the plant name on the screen or in the video description for those of us who are less experienced gardeners and are not as familiar with plants. With the actual names, I could do a bit of research to see if these particular plants would also work in 6b.

Yes I do have a question and I think I have never seen how you do this. You mentioned that, if I remember well, you will mow the complete area in the spring and leave all the branches & leaves to mulch the bed. Would love for you to film this to show us exactly how. Ok I live in a city with mixed beddings but would really like to see exactly how you do this. Thanks in advance and really love your channel, cooking and plantings. Have an enjoyable summer 😊

Once again the information the planning. Last year we redid our gardens in Northern California to drought resistant and also could weather heat. We also had noted what plants thrive on our property. I am more of the philosophy if your garden is not huge make it wonderful by not many varieties, but mass of similar plants. I love visiting our garden areas everyday and the happiness is we have had high heats and the gardens have not turned to crispy critters but remains lovely. You are absolutely correct to plant to your planting zone. Thank you our master gardener, master home chef, and master collector. ❤

Hi from Florida! I had to learn a whole new way of gardening in our sub-tropical ecosystem here in FL. Originally coming from Maine, it was definitely trial & error here on my property, but I am loving these tropical plants that I can work with now! I went from deer & moose eating my blueberry bushes, to rabbits & tortoises & learning mostly what NOT to include. I watched my beautiful Delphinium get eaten overnight by bunnies! I have used larged potted plants along with perennials that deter these critters. I live the varied plants you used & the reseeding factor-very smart.😊❤

It’s fantastic!! The color and layout is so peaceful, and the mix of formal style with your farm landscape is just perfection. My favorite mix of styles…country with a touch of gilding. 😊😊. Thank you for introducing me to hyssop! 😮. What an amazing plant!! Mine are 4’ tall in their first year. Just stunning. And the 🐝🐝 adore them. I’m gonna add many more this fall-they’re just so impressive. The bees just adore nepeta too, which is another of my favorites, as well as the Russian Sage, of course. Looking for Culver’s Root now. Thanks for the inspiration you share, Kaleb!

Loved your new gardens! So precise. And edged out perfectly. At the end during the drone shot from above, I noticed your grass could use a dose of Malorganite fertilizer spread over just before a good rain day. I tried it and man did our yard green up an become lush in just a few weeks. Just a thought. Happy gardening ❤

Thank you so much for these videos! I’m in western Kansas zone 6a now supposedly, but have a lot in common with growing conditions, especially challenges of wind and water. I love the new addition to your garden. I also inherited a garden from my husband’s family. Each year I’ve tried to add some new and interesting plants. Hardscaping is more difficult since it’s more expensive but I scour juntique stores and thrift stores for interesting items I can incorporate. I’ve been fairly successful. Now it’s time to do paths. I know you said you had done some of this. Any tips? Thanks for sharing

Hi there! I'm only going to water if we don't get enough rain (<1" per week) while these get established. I'm just using a long hose and doing it by hand. If you go to 21:27 you can see a little clip of me watering. After they become established, I shouldn't need to worry about watering as most are drought tolerant plants.

Just one question, Kaleb: I have seen your spring bed mowing of perennials, and with that amount of hardwood mulch, won't you damage your mower? Or do you rake it away from the bed and then mow?
@WyseGuide

I set the mower high enough so that the blades don't cut into the mulch layer. It will throw small pieces here and there but it's never enough to damage it. 😊
