It's maybe me but your comment sounds kinda odd because it implies (specifically the use of "still" and "even") that such a content creator's quality should decline over time? It's rather the opposite; you know... experience :) Just to be clear, I don't mean to diminish the quality and effort put into the production of this content.

Love the cameras, but I do have a intermittant problem with both the v2 cameras and the new sensors and motion detectors. Usually I get notifications within 5 seconds whether on wifi or cellular. BUT sometimes I have noticed that they can take up to as long as 14 minutes before I receive a notification! WYZE has not been able to help. I have noticed other users have also mentioned this. My phone on Verizon and my wifi which is on Spectrum work excellently otherwise, so I cannot put the blame on those areas.

There's an issue with the contact sensors bricking if it's without power for too long. From what I experienced and read, it will lose it's mac address and blink 5 times instead of three when trying to pair. I don't know if they fixed it in current contact sensors or if it affects the motion sensors.

Set the cookie light color to Cookie-Monster blue. 🍪 Also, you _know_ that your kids will learn to make sure the sensor on that cookie jar is never aligned so that the camera will run out of power / space and then they can go in undetected. ;) Seriously though, pretty cool set of tools. Currently a one-way light switch turns on two screw-in LED ceiling light bulbs. If I go with Wyze Sense, what types of light bulbs would be needed? Do you suggest Wyze Sense Motion or Door sensor for this use? Thanks for a great review!

So you can't set the whole system up to turn it self of and on based on if you are within wifi range of your home connection with your phone? It would save a huge amount of battery life especially for those who spend a lot of time at the location, seems like one of the first features needed.

@@kipling1957 Renter's insurance is only $20 a month. If you own your home, your homeowners insurance will cover anything stolen in a burglary. A camera will go a long way to catching whoever is doing it. If you're worried about a burglary, you're much better off focusing on strengthening your door jams and hardening your windows. For $100 you can make your door impossible for the average burglar to kick in. For another $100-200, you can install security film ground floor windows that are easy for burglars to access. Most burglars are looking for easy targets. Just making your home look like it's more difficult to break into than your neighbor's is often enough to prevent a burglary.

I am a Wyse survivor. I bought one of the originals, mounted it inside a window overlooking the front yard. Set up all the parameters to send alerts to my phone, and all that. Every time I get an alert, by the time I go through all the security nonsense, using my password manager -- which Wyse just cannot get along with, enter it from memory, correct a typo, throw the phone, go pick up the phone, do it all again, all to find it was the wind blowing some leaves. And more than a few times, I got an alert, pushed all the phone buttons several times, and was told that a software update was needed before I could prospectively watch the thieves driving down the street with my art collection. And the camera had lost contact, and I needed to unplug it and plug it in again to reconnect. From a foreign country? The Wyse cam is very cheap. You get less than you pay for. Mine is not even useful as a paperweight. I suppose I could throw it at some thieves -- if I were home at the time. Rocks to a knife fight. Get a dog.

But there is no way to set the entire system as "armed" or "disarmed", so 99% of the notifications will be false alarms to be ignored. Not a good design and/or an incomplete product and feature set. This is sort of like selling you a bunch of chips and claiming it's a cheap do-it-yourself computer.

@@MarkSmithMCS You're thinking too much like a single guy. It's not just "is my cellphone at home or away". What about if I am away (my cellphone is away) but my family is home? What about at night when I am home but I want to "arm" the system. It's not so simple and true security systems are more complicated than implied by this limited set of components. I agree, if one just wants 24/7 video monitor of their fish tank or child's nursery, fine. But a true security system is much more than a pile of sensors and few IFTTT rules.
