You can remove some satellite uplinks to replace with a satellite nexus. You can also make your genetics lab connect to your labs for more bonuses. You can also make your workshops connect to your foundry and your cybernetics lab. Some of your things make zero sense for getting the best bonuses.

Nice vid, but it got me wondering: can't the whole base be technically done on 3 levels only? I mean it seems to me like it would be possible to go with only 1 workshop(linked with foundry for bonus), only 1 lab(linked with gene lab for bonus), 2 uplinks linked with 2 nexus(instead of 6 uplinks), and with 3 power generators and one elerium linked you should be able to do the whole base on 3 levels only, cutting a lot on excavation costs and some maintenance.

why don't you put the alien containment were the gene lab is,the gene lab were the cybernetics lab is,and the cybernetics lab were the alien containment is.

Robert Duggan most of the time you can't place every building exactly where you want to in your base. Funding, supplies available, technology, and luck all influence where you build. You just try to do your best. Although he probably should of mentioned what you said.
